Mold found
I found mold underneath my air handler in my apartment that I just moved into. I put in a request to have the mold remediated. since that time I have been retaliated against. I have received a violation of my lease because I asked maintenance a question regarding the collection of a sample of mold in the area after I had a construction worker come and remove the boards covered in black mold and treat the area. My concern was he wouldn’t get a clear reading since the area had been treated for... mold, although you can see the mold on the wall still.
Prior to having the construction worker come in and remove the sheet rock, I had put an emergency request for maintenance to contact me to no avail the following day I talk with the manager Maria and she informed me that she wasn’t gonna do anything since the tenants prior to me said nothing about finding mold in the apartment. I had to contact her regional manager to get her to even come down and look at what was going on which she did very angrily and told me I could break my lease and move out and I told her I didn’t want to. Marie informed me that she didn’t have to let me rent this apartment that she allowed me to move in as if she was doing me a favor and I shouldn’t be saying anything about the black mold I shared with Cassandra, her regional manager about how belittling she was towards me and the threats of me having a home to live in. Well, I was right because.
Today I received an eviction notice.
There was a company that came in and cleaned the ducts and I questioned them as to whether or not they were going to check it for mold and they knew nothing about it. I showed him where the mold was they saw it. I showed him the pictures of the mold that I have taken. He was surprised. After they left, I received the eviction notice with bogus issues.
I cannot get management to respond to me to get Assistance to handle the manager here at these apartments in Johnson City.
