Severe Habitability Failures
Title: Severe Habitability Failures, Fire Hazards, and Safety Risks
* Unready Unit: Moved into a filthy apartment with missing interior doors, broken/soiled blinds, moldy/rusted baseboards, an unfinished tub, moldy leaking pipes, and a non-flushing toilet. Walls unpainted, unplanted nail holes.
* Fire Hazard: An uncertified repair person worked on the broken heater, shorting out the boiler wires and causing total electrical failure and an immediate fire hazard CPS had to be called.
* Broken... Amenities: The building elevator was broken for two consecutive years. Similarly, the laundry room washers and dryers were left completely broken for two years before finally being repaired and replaced. The gym and pool remain decades outdated and physically dangerous and un healthy as well as unusable.
* Management Failures: High mandatory fees are charged, but trash is left uncollected, causing overflowing dumpsters. They tow cars without reason, enforce moving pod rules selectively, and do nothing about rampant package theft.
* Extreme Security Risks: Management failed to notify police that a wanted felon moved out and new one moved to a different unit, they vehemently claimed was cleared. As a result, police spent six months executing warrants at the new tenant's door.
* Dangerous Environment: Background checks are not enforced, allowing active felons to lease here. The building smells of marijuana, and the exterior has heavy drug activity. The complex suffers from constant late-night drinking, physical fights, and recurring domestic violence arrests. Verdict: Entirely uninhabitable and dangerous inside and out. Do not lease here.
