Carmel at Deerfield

It’s 85 in my apartment right now. It’s set for 74. Living in my apartment during any kind of heat is sheer misery. I get I face the sun and I have a large window; but I’ve been dealing with this place for almost 7 years, 2 in my current apartment. I have placed tint on my windows and have 3 total black out curtains. I get it’s super hot outside- but other apartments and units can handle it.

I’ve always been told: “the apartments are old.” “You know living on the 3rd floor is bad.” “Why do you... want to live there?” (I don’t want to share a bedroom wall..) “It just can’t keep up on the 3rd floor.” “That’s how it is”. It was also like this in my prior apartment that was *not* facing the sun.

I’ve also been told and shown a photo the attic doesn’t have insulation. Has the new owner fixed it? No. We get to pay a $10 amentity fee for what? Working a/c’s, a dishwasher that isn’t broken and has cut your hand, a toilet that doesn’t require multiple flushes, a working ice maker, at least 1990s appliances instead of the falling apart 1980s ones? Nope.

I should not be in tears. I have slept on my couch for the last 5 nights because the bedroom is so warm. I have my bedroom ceiling fan going, my living room floor fan, and another fan in the bedroom. My unit does not have a ceiling fan in the living room.

I am sweating. I’m tired. I’m exhausted. I called earlier today about this and still nothing. It’s 7pm. I also asked about this over a week ago and no one ever showed.

I don’t know why other people I know have functioning a/c in their apartments. (At different properties.)

I have heard every excuse in the book. I can’t deal with the: “Well, This is how it has to be because of the location of the apt and it’s old.”

Stephanie and Leonor are very kind. I am placing this soley on the owners/management company.

I’m pretty upset at the thought I will probably have to move and pay a lot more elsewhere - but to have a working air conditioning system - I’ll take it.

My name is Mr. Hernandez been here for the past 7yrs, I have seen different manager and Assistants come and go . Since the take over Mrs Stephanie (Manager) and Garcia ( Assistant) are very helpful and attentive to all tenants. it's a Great pleasure to have Mrs.Garcia Back.

They are on top of all the issue that comes up on the spot. Maintenance has gone a lot better since the take over. Communication is GREAT.

The Atmosphere in the complex is Amazing!!!

I would love to see them stay for a... long time since they're Great TEAM together.

Please don't fall for their lower rent. Wait until you move in to discover dark secrets of this place. Infested with German roaches and when it is windy huge dock roaches enter. Cannot rid German roaches. They lay too many eggs in the carpet, pantry, under the sink and inside the drawers. Birds poop and black stains with gooey stuff on steps and on hallways. Lower rent attracts rowdy young people and drug users. I have seen police raid the property a number of times with police dogs. Police SUBs... and police helicopters.
Do not trust 4 or 5 star reviews. They are written by the employees. Nasty gossipers in the office do not hold complaints from tenants in confidence. This endangers safest of tenant who exposes their ugliness. It is unsafe to live here. Park West apt is dirty and unsafe just like here. There are long time tenants who are more abusive and make the stay difficult. Management encourages gossip. Read More

The apartments are nice and affordable. Nice team of people in the office. The maintenance team excellence. This place is quite and the pool area is awesome. when looking I was approved at several in the area. The staff and location won. I would recommend the place to everyone looking for an affordable place to live. With awesome Management team this is the one!
