Do NOT Live Here If You Value Your Safety
Do NOT live here if you value your safety. On December 23, 2025 I found my mailbox vandalized and Christmas gifts for my mother stolen. The apartment was notified and all that was offered was a replacement mailbox key. I raised concerns about raising the security to the mail area to which nothing was done. On January 1, 2026 my roommate and I returned from a New Year's Eve party to find our apartment had been burglarized. Approximately $10,000 worth of items were taken including laptops,... consoles, TV's, firearms, golf clubs, medical equipment, suits, and other miscellaneous items. The event was reported to Legacy Brooks with supporting documentation. Only the locks on our doors were changed. There is a security camera from the mini-market positioned 10 yards away from our apartment that upon multiple request was not turned over. On January 24, 2026 upon returning from a work trip, my roommate discovered that his car was stolen. What was not realized from the NYE break-in was that both of our spare car keys had been stolen. The same request for security camera footage was made from the mini-market, and to date has still not been turned over. Based upon the three thefts in a month time span, it is apparent to myself as well as the verbalized opinion of the police that my roommate and I are being targeted and likely have a stalker. On January 26, 2026 my roommate and I attempted to break our lease for cause per Texas Property Code 92.0161. We were met with extreme resistance from property management and given two options of paying a lease buy-out or leaving in 60 days.
Upon further investigation, it has been discovered that an adjacent neighbor whom we shared a wall with had vacated her apartment due to a mold infestation in her walls and in her vents. To date, no preventive or screening measures have been made on our behalf in detection of mold in our vents. I will say that over the last 18 months, I have been sick more than I ever have been previously and I would consider myself to be healthy, fit, 24 year-old.
If you are still reading, I encourage you to explore other options for the value of your personal safety, safety of your possessions, and possibly your health.
