Montecristo Apartments

The administration people are a little rude, there is very little security, the gate is always open, many cars have been stolen and no one gives a solution

Living at the apartment is okay, anything that malfunctions the workers will do their best to fix.

However the administration does a substandard job
1. If you want your security deposit back, it took them 3 months after departing to tell me I owed them.
2. If you have a complaint about the administration, there is noone that won't stab you in the back.
3. My neighbor had his truck stolen from the grounds (and he kept his truck locked).

First of all, just a little bit about myself. I am a first time apartment owner, look at a lot of reviews, and try to give the most objective perspective as possible. My initial thoughts of the Montecristo apartments were that it was outstanding. I have been here for 6 months, and will be renewing my lease. The staff is responsive, the maintenance are friendly and competent, I feel safe here, and the price is great. The location is great, they have occasional events, like breakfast by the gate,... food trucks, Italian ice, and coffee. It is a quiet complex as well. I cannot think of any legitimate negatives that were not addressed by the staff. Perhaps, it is a older complex, my dishwasher wasn’t working, but it was replaced within a week. I wish there was a formal walkway route within the complex. And I wish my apartment complex was handicap accessible. Overall, I love the culture at this complex and quality. I’m about to move and I still highly recommend. The dollar-to-square foot cost is unmatched for Stone Oak. Immediate access to 1604, minutes from 281 is already worth it. Maintenance and landscape is on point and no issues with pests. Sound hasn’t been an issue except for my upstairs neighbor’s heavy footsteps. Mostly families live here, so it’s pretty quiet, and the school bus even stops at our complex. The pool is awesome. I want to note that car “break ins” were rumored to be at vehicles left... unlocked. They have since set up security cameras and I live near the courtesy officer - yes, he exists and is SO aware of everything going on, it’s kind of intense. Residents (at least around me) are conscientious about noise levels, picking up after their dogs, and helping each other out. Having lived at the Montecristo for 5 years, through a series of unfortunate events I renewed my lease for another 18 months, a decision I will regret.
A rash of weekend car burglaries-never addressed by management nor Francis Properties, a stolen mail box-never addressed by management nor Francis Properties.
Currently a management team full of smiles and empty promises.
As a retired educator, an active yet independent over 60 person- I have been treated horribly by management. While going... through a difficult time no compassion nor empathy from management.
So if you are looking for a complex that doesn’t take criticism well, stay clear of Montecristo. They are mean spirited and vindictive.
