maybe keep looking?

very nice apartment - but there are a few issues.
1. You MUST get Direct TV - $100/mo for VERY BASIC channels & internet - you can get a better deal on your own - but you aren't permitted to do so. Additional channels or more than one box - more $$$. Direct TV does not return calls when channels go out. Supposedly, you must have Direct TV due to it being a "smart home" which includes 2 light switches, thermostat control & unlocks/locks your front door - meh - for this I have no choice in...
cable?? For a one-time $40 outlay I could have 2 outlets and use my google home app.
2. the app for moving in inspection went straight to signing with no inspection comments allowed so the issues I identified couldn't be reported as they require. I had scratched counters, cracked tub & broken blind slats on 1 window - not sure where to report - I'll bet they know how to charge me for it when I move out!
3. Maintenance issues - they call me directly - for issues that have nothing to do with me - they called 6 times in one week while I was at work. I called the office to ask about it - they never returned my call. Agreed to meet them on a Friday at 7 a.m. The contractor showed up at 7:30 a.m. but the laborer didn't - they wanted us to stay home all day in case he showed up. It's an issue with the heating duct their laborers broke - I didn't break it.
4. Maintenance request app - offers 2 options - kitchen or laundry room. My garage door wouldn't close - no option for "other". You won't get contacted if it's after hours anyway. Called the office again they said they would be here at 7:00 a.m. to look at it. (I usually leave for work at 6:00 a.m. but I agreed to wait.) He didn't show up until 8:00 and then called and wanted to reschedule because I had left. It still won't close from time to time - still not looked at.
5. Lot's of traffic noise. The dead end sign is behind a tree so folks come barreling down the front of the complex. Noise doesn't bother me but you should be aware.
6. good luck with packages/deliveries - address not on maps anywhere - so - if it doesn't fit in a 6X8 mailbox you're outta luck.
6. maybe I'm responsible for scheduling maintenance & waiting for guys who don't show up....maybe I shouldn't be upset about overpaying for crappy cable....maybe it is worse at other places. It still is a very nice apartment - but aggravating stupid issues.
