Do not waste the money here

I am about to reach my year here and I will not be renewing my lease. This apt complex is very petty. You spend almost $1000.00 just for the rent office to tell you that your walking to loud or that your sitting on the curb for to long. You hear everything through the walls and the appliances are not up to date. For the price you pay here, there is definitely a apt complex better.

Governor's Pointe

If you are looking for a quite apartment complex for a single person or small family, this would be the perfect location. Nice sized rooms and living area. The management staff is great and the grounds are kept in perfect condition. Great location, 5 minutes from Hospital and less than 10 Minutes from a lot of great restaurants and mall.

Well maintained subsidized apts.

Apartment complex is are very well maintained. Rents are stable.
Low income apts.....So UNFORTUNATELY, drug dealers/addicts live here. Drug buyers and NON-residents are in apt complex all hours all nights. They break into apartments. I DETERRED A MUGGER ONE NIGHT, as I got out of my car. I don't feel safe here.
The 2ND EVENING after I moved in 2009, some one was shot in the parking lot.

As of 2015:
Apt mgt has made great efforts to rid complex of drug dealer residents and activity. So they must...
be denying applicants with criminal records. Complex seems quieter now and less people in-out at all hrs...less strange cars loitering with people doing drugs.
2 BR apts seem to be occupied by families now. I now would recommend this apt complex.

You Get What You Pay For

You seriously get what you pay for here at Governors Pointe Apartments. I have been at this complex for a year and almost a half and after my first year was up I did not renew my lease, instead I did a month to month contract. In that year and almost a half we have had three different complex managers and two different maintenance men (now we have no maintenance man). So you do the math, what does that tell you? Somethings not right, right? Anywho, there are absolutely no amenities here. There... is no playground, no park, no dog park (you can't even have dogs), no laundry facility, no business center, no nothing! Your rent covers a roof over your head, water, sewage, and sanitation and that is it! The rent here though is fairly cheap for the area (Great Bridge) so that is definitely a plus but then again you get what you pay for. The appliances are not updated, the cabinetry is old, the bathrooms are old, the apartment complex is old period. I can say though that the area is nice and quiet and the neighbors are fairly decent. If you are single with no kids then this could definitely be the home that you are looking for, especially if you want to live in a good area for cheap. Beware though this complex is income restricted!!! So wrapping this up, I guess the good things about this complex would be the fact that you don't have to pay for water, your neighbors are pretty decent (the complex is a quiet zone so they have to comply), the area (Great Bridge) is nice, and its safe (I have never had any problems with my car being broken into or my apartment). The cons though you don't have any amenities, the apartment is old on the interior and exterior, you don't have a maintenance man so you are going to have to wait if stuff goes wrong, the appliances are outdated and frequently mess up, and you have an unstable management team (bound to change at any time). Okay I am done, that is all!
