Northgate at Falls Church

Absolutely atrocious management company. This place is wildly overpriced for what you actually get. The building is poorly managed, the staff is consistently rude and unhelpful, and the amenities are bare minimum at best.

The building also has constant elevator issues. The most recent breakdown was so severe that the elevator was condemned by the city and remained out of service for nearly three months. For a building charging luxury-level rent, this level of neglect is completely unacceptable... .

The biggest issue is the rent increases. They lure you in with a reasonable first-year rate, then hit you with a grotesque increase at renewal under the excuse of “fair market value evaluation.” They refuse to negotiate or work with long-term tenants in any meaningful way. It is no surprise there has been a mass exodus of residents recently because of how poorly this property is managed and how tenants are treated.

Between the poor management, lack of value, ongoing maintenance problems, and predatory lease renewals, living here has been an awful experience. Do not move here under any circumstances. Read More

Would not recommend living at Northgate Falls Church.

Poor management and service throughout my time here. Both elevators were out of service for about three months and were officially deemed “Condemned as Dangerous and Unsafe” by a city code official. As a top floor resident, this made daily living extremely difficult.

Communication was limited, and rent was still increased while new tenants were offered concessions.

The building is modern and new. Apartment is full of natural light. The staff are amazing, especially Walton, he is responsive, genuine, excels in customer relations, and goes above and beyond to make sure you feel taken care of. Common spaces and location can't be beat!

Overall I like living here. There are both pros and cons as there are with any place. I moved in about 4 months after the place opened. The staff has been wonderful. The apartments are pretty conveniently located to the Falls Church Metro and several restaurants. The area itself is pretty low key, its not as busy as Ballston or Rosslyn, but you are also not paying out the yin yang to live here either. I do wish the community had a pool and more green space. The kitchens are huge and closet space... is pretty descent. I also occasionally hear my neighbors, but most of building is pretty respectful so really it hasn't been an issue for me, I cannot speak for others though. Northgate is a new complex with nice amenities. The only thing it is really missing is a pool for the complex. The rent is a little pricy compared to other apartments in the area, but it does have the added benefit of being new, close to the metro and WOD trail. They have some security issues with their bike storage areas and with their fire alarm system. In the winter of 2014 it would go off frequently in the "preventing" placing people outside in snow storms. Because of this they do frequent... fire alarm tests ( monthly/bimonthly) which can be distracting if you are trying to work from home.
