Westwood Apartments

I have been here for 4 years, but it doesn’t seem that long. I wanted to live in an area that is close to everything and in a good school zone. That is exactly what I got. We even live within walking distance from our church. The office staff is so sweet and knows us by name. We do not have to pay utilities other than electricity and that was important to me. In addition to that, they gave me a discount as a State employee. I really appreciated that! My favorite thing about Westwood is how… they celebrate the tenants. There are pool parties and movies on the lawn with snacks. I don’t think I could feel happier or safer if I owned a home. If you are looking, consider Westwood. I looked at a place near here recently and immediately decided I didn’t want to move!

Well we have lived here since September 2018, and honestly dont plan on moving any time soon! The lovely lady who works at the office is always so so kind to answer any questions we have and help out in any way! The complex is well kept, our neighbors are all very friendly and kind, there isnt any bad crime or trouble here. It is very peaceful, my family and I feel welcome and at home. Would most definitely recommend Westwood Apartments to anyone who is thinking about moving here or looking for… a place in general. They may be older apartments but they are well kept up and was very clean when we moved in. We actually had moved here from a newly built apartment complex in Newport News, and honestly Westwood is even better than our old place! I Lived in these apartments for 11 months and have to say the experience was wonderful. the staff was always super helpful and kind and always addressed any issues. Would Highly recommend to anyone!

I've lived here over ten years and this is what I've observed.

Pros: it's a quiet neighborhood. It's close to everything but hidden so there isn't a lot of traffic. The maintenance staff is friendly and timely. The grounds are kept up. It's one of the cheaper apartments in the area and they don't just let anyone in. Very safe area.

Cons: it's 2018 and the only way to pay rent is by check...the windows are ancient and never get cleaned. Mine are covered in spiderwebs and the windows don't tilt… so it's very difficult to clean them thuroughly. The AC unit is very loud when it's running, so much so that if you're watching TV you have to constantly adjust the volume. There is no 24-7 package pickup. There are no stop signs so idiots who don't understand that people going straight on the main drag have the right of way will often pull out in front of you. Read More
