Coastline - VA

A hot water pipe burst under the slab on the first floor of my building making it so everyone lost water and making the water pressure so low our showers didn't work. This lasted a month and a half with water pouring out from under the building into the parking lot. All the residents filed dozens of maintenance requests, but nothing was done until someone called code enforcement, turns out they were violating the law by keeping us in the building in the state it was in. Code enforcement gave... them two days to fix the problem or have the building condemned and be seriously fined. Two days later the pipe was fixed. BUT the complex has demanded full rent and utility payments, including paying for all the water that poured out of the building and the gas that heated it, we were told to pay in full for all of it or face eviction for non-payment. There are over 50 units that haven't had AC for the entire summer, which is also against the law. None of us will see any compensation for any of this and neither will you if you live here. Management is lazy
The community is horrible
The area is horrible (LOTS of crime)
It takes FOREVER to get your maintenance requests resolved
The apartments are very old and it shows.
the owners (Druker and Falk) have nothing to do with the place and clearly dont care about the quality offered here.

This is one of the cheaper options out there, but its STILL expensive for what it is.

I have lived here for around 2 years.
there is always trash everywhere
the location isnt a safe place
my "renovated" apartment doesnt have a garbage disposal and the fire alarms arent hardwired (this is a fire hazard. i could just get rid of my fire alarms)
the maintenance team is lazy


just dont live here.
and rent is high for the location. its crazy.

I highly recommend living here. The staff is extremely helpful. Kacey, the property manager, has been a delight to speak to, listening to my concerns and I always see maintenance working hard. The builds are well kept and the apartments are really nice for the price. I really enjoy being here.

I would give this place negative stars if at all possible. The abridged version: Upon move in, the apartment wreaked of cigarette smoke. The smell ended up on my clothes, furniture, and anybody who spend more than an hour there left with a noticeable smoke smell on them. I reported this to the leasing office, they told me they would be by to address it. Nobody came until after a month. In addition to the cigarette smoke, there were cockroaches, the drains drained extremely slowly and would back... up into each other (if one sink filled up, the other would fill as well), the patio door wouldn't swing open because of the slope of the ground, the walls are VERY thin, and the apartment was in general very dirty. Citing all of these reasons I tried to move out, but the management wouldn't budge. They made me pay 2 months rent plus another 2 months rent for a lease break free even if I were to move out immediately upon moving in (they wouldn't let me see my specific unit prior to move in).

I have never written a review for an apartment before. I am generally a "you get what you pay for" kind of guy, but here you will pay for nothing. Truly avoid at all costs. Read More
