As a long term tenant at this property, this place has gone downhill fast. Due to construction of these units, bedrooms are placed near the parking lot and stairwell which means you hear EVERYTHING from outside. Pet owners don’t clean up after their animals, so if you wanted to enjoy the grass on a nice summer day be ready to step in some crap. The manager of the complex knows this is an issue and does nothing about it besides post notices in monthly news letters to pick up after your animals.... Maintenance around the complex is a joke, there have been multiple lights out in the breezeways and it took over a month to have them replaced and snow removal is basically a tenants responsibility because it won’t be shoveled or plowed until late in the afternoon. As for the units themselves, it’s carpet just thrown over a concrete pad with tack strips that poke through the carpet; this also causes bubbling on the carpet and premature wearing which they’ll hold you liable for. If you enjoy listening to your neighbors fighting and screaming at each other, this place is for you.

Initially we picked the Eastgate Apartments because we liked that they were brand new. Soon after moving in, we discovered that there are massive design flaws. The bedroom windows are right next to the parking lot and the stairs. The stairs make a donging noise everytime that someone goes up or down and you hear the cars early in the morning. There is no soundproofing between floors, so we hear constant thudding from above us. We can also hear the toilet flushing and washing machine running....
Lesser complaints, but still worth mentioning are the dead trees and grass, super small fridge/freezer, and the cuts and bubbles in the carpet. (We didn't get to look at the unit that we were going to rent, unfortunately that seems typical for the area.)
As previously mentioned, this apparently is not a no smoking complex, however the rental agreement that we signed 2 months ago seems to suggest that it is. The manager is new and it seems like there is a lot of turnover, so I guess it's up to how the manager interprets the agreement.
