FOREST CREEK APARTMENTS

Easily the worst place I've ever lived. I've got loads of complaints, but I wasn't even going to leave a bad review, until the last three straws with moving out.

First, only needing 20 days notice sounds nice, but then they don't prorate the rent. So you're paying in full for the last calendar month you're there, regardless of when you move out. That was several hundred dollars down the drain and into Forest Creek's pockets.

Second, I was two weeks late with the rent for the last month. My... phone reminder didn't work. My fault. Had the money the whole time. But how did I get two weeks late still? Why didn't the office remind me at some point? Because they don't give reminders to people who have already put in their notice. And that's another $50 for the late fee, and they required me to go get a cashier's check just for fun. It should have been waived due to their neglect to give a reminder. If they really were in need of that rent payment, they would have said something. Who knows how long they would have sat on it to maximize what they could charge.

And third, another $110 was withheld from our returned deposit. $20 to replace the drip pans, which were gross and in need of replacement when we moved in, and another $90 or so for carpet cleaning. Now, the previous place we lived, we had to have the carpet professionally cleaned before we moved out. That carpet cleaner was amazed at how clean the carpets still were, considering how long we had lived there. We treat our carpets well, and we lived there longer than we did at Forest Creek. But that's all kind of beside the point, because the carpets were visibly disgusting when we first moved in to Forest Creek. They clearly hadn't been cleaned. I've always had a habit of resting my feet against the wall underneath the desk. When we packed up the desk, the wall there was blackened from how gross the carpets were. That's never happened at any other place I've lived. So they charged us over a hundred dollars for things that should have been done before we moved in. And I have my doubts that they've been done even now.

And those are just the last three things that really pissed me off about this place. There are loads more. Management is greedy, and just awful in general. At least the staff usually seems nice. Read More

The complex is well maintained. The manager is great!

It is a decent place to live. Management keeps the property clean and keeps the maintenance up very well.
