Dirty and lack of hot water
I’m giving this apartment 2 stars, and that’s only because the property managers have been friendly in my interactions with them.
The biggest ongoing issue has been the shower. The water temperature constantly fluctuates, and even after maintenance replaced the shower cartridge, the problem continued. About 20% of the time the water either goes cold mid-shower or never gets warm to begin with. I take short (10–15 minute) showers once daily and don’t use extremely hot water, yet I still can’t... maintain a comfortable temperature. This is incredibly frustrating because I am normally a very clean person but there have been days where I couldn't shower due to lack of hot water.
When I moved in, the unit was extremely dirty. The carpet smelled and felt sticky, there was animal hair everywhere, loose kibble and loose framing nails in the carpet, clogged drains, and my mop turned black when I first cleaned the floor. I tried cleaning the carpet TWO times with a large carpet cleaner but that did not help at all. The carpet was eventually replaced which was nice. The fan and kitchen light fixture look like they've never been cleaned before. There was food in every crevasse in the kitchen. The hallways also have persistent unpleasant odors and are always dirty.
Overall, the property feels run down and poorly maintained. The cleaning crew clearly does not put in adequate effort before new tenants move in. I cannot wait until my lease is up. There has got to be far better options for the price you pay here.
