The Park at 1824 Student Apartments

My daughter is currently renting here after MONTHS of trying to get out of the lease. Unfortunately, there is never a decent contact person even after the previous management all mysteriously left at the same time.

There is black mold in the apartment. I guess this shouldn’t besurprising since the dishwasher was moldy when her and her roommate moved in. Literal mold IN the dishwasher at that time

Walls are paper thin so you hear EVERYTHING. Finals time? No worries! Please scream all night....

Her smoke detector has been faulty for months. I’ve heard it myself. They no longer accept maintenance for it because it’s not a 24/7 issue. I will see what the fire department thinks about faulty alarms. I’m sure they would be pleased.

What management tells one student is different from another. For example, my daughter was told she couldn’t drop parking because there was no wait list. Come to find out her friend was on the wait list

Oh and previous tenants apparently aren’t forced to give their key and fob back so who knows who has access to the building

I’m giving this apartment one star due to extremely poor management over the past 12 months. Maintenance issues were handled unacceptably slowly it took three months to fix a broken shower and a full month to repair a sink. There has also been ongoing mold in the windows, bathroom, and even the dishwasher, none of which was properly addressed. THAT WAS BEFORE I EVEN MOVED IN! On top of that, we didn’t have trash service for over six months, and amenities that were advertised, like the study... hall, were closed off and unavailable. There were also serious issues with my lease. I was given two different contracts with conflicting dates, and they overcharged me for my room. Although they eventually admitted their mistake and issued a credit, it took six months and only after I mentioned taking legal action. During that time, they tried to convince me I had signed a contract that I clearly did not. Even though my lease ends middle of the month , they’re still trying to charge me for a full month when I won’t even be living there. Overall, poor communication, lack of accountability, and unresolved health and safety issues. I would not recommend living here read your lease carefully and ask questions before signing. Don’t believe the pictures you see on the website they’re fake and old. Actually come tour the property and ask to see one of the rooms that’s been lived in, because they’ll show you a room that’s never been touched. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A ZERO STAR I WOULD!!! Worst management on the face of the earth. double booked parking spots, and they will always try to screw you out of money. They towed me while I was in my own parking spot and I had to threaten them with a lawsuit to get them to reimburse me. Do yourself a favor and do not rent here

Rude staff, terrible management, parking is double booked. Not a good place to thrive
