Element 84

STEER CLEAR! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!

The Element 84 is marketed as upscale “luxury” living in the heart of West Allis, but it is the furthest thing from. We leased a unit from Element 84 over the last 2 years and finally can say as of 5/31 that we are no longer residents.

The management at this place is an absolute joke and not value you as a resident. At the Element 84, you are a customer and just another dollar sign.

Issues we dealt with during our time here:

* August 2025 - AKA... “The Great Flood”. The building was COMPLETELY overtaken by water. Both mine and my girlfriend’s car were total losses as they were parked in the underground parking garage. On top of losing our vehicles, we were forced out the apartment for 5 weeks while they worked to restore power to the building. During this time we were forced to find other living arrangements and rent a vehicle. The apartment did offer to house tenants at one of roach-infested hotels down by the airport, but these accommodations would not be suitable for us and our dog for over a month. Upon returning to the building we did not have fully operational elevators in the building until December 2025 (I will thank them for losing 10 lbs from the ole waterline as we were forced to use the stairs to get up to our 3rd floors apartment). So, what did Element 84 do to credit us for this major inconvenience and thousands of dollars spent on new vehicles, housing, food replacement, and time spent moving out of the apartment? The offered us our money back for the time the building was uninhabitable and one free month if we agreed to resign our lease for another year… I know, insane, right?

Living at Element 84 has been a terrible experience ;

The condition of the unit when we moved in was gross and not deeply cleaned - the general dis-repair and lack of cleanliness and trash around the entire property / the abysmal condition of both the grass / flower beds with exposed piping from mulch running off - to the treatment from the staff / the condescending and unprofessional letters posted and blasted throughout the property threatening the removal of amenity privileges / ETC for the... entire community because of the few that break the rules - the delayed or non responsive office. Not to mention the over 11% rent increase on just the base rent in one year (with an excuse about "inflation" - yet they can't maintain the property as-is)

The entire experience has been poor. The property acts as a dorm for the Briggs & Stratton College ; as a result there as college students trashing about / being loud and generally making living at the property feel like a dorm. You can see the bus come and pick them up and drop them off daily M-F.

As soon as we gave notice to vacate, the staff began constantly scheduling tours of our unit - I took time out of my day each time to be at the unit for each tour ; each time nobody showed up / or updated me with the cancellation.

When we came a year ago ; we were told we could not tour occupied units - now they have flipped on that stance and make the final 2 months of your residency unenjoyable with constant tours of anyone off the street who wants to see the unit.

The straw that broke the camels back was management's un-authorized entrance of our apartment to film a video of our home - luckily I caught this on our home film or I would not have known they violated our space. When discussed and told about how upset we were ; and what would be done - we were promised there would be no more in person showings until we vacated the property - a week later they began scheduling tours again against their word.

Ultimately I have been very hesitant to write this review / or say anything at all as I fear retaliation from the management team. I will be updating this review after my move-out , to update on our treatment and the move-out process.

Element 84 is a pretty good place to live. I've lived here since May 2021 and have had a generally good experience. For the price and location it really can't be beat. That said there's been numerous issues with the elevators and garage doors over the past several months.
