Apartment Living BlogApartment Hunting › The Only Moving Checklist You’ll Ever Need

There’s no denying it, moving is a huge hassle. Between packing boxes, renting trucks, finding help, and taking care of the thousand smaller-yet-still-absolutely-vital details that go along with changing residences, it’s a miracle that any of us make it out of the ordeal in one piece! Even if you decide to just go ahead and hire a moving company to take care of the heavy lifting (literally and figuratively), there’s still a lot that you’re going to have to take care of in order for the process to go smoothly. Given the overall complexity of the entire operation, it can be easy to feel as though you’re drowning under a tide of responsibilities. And you know what? If you absent-mindedly neglect even one of those responsibilities, then it can end up derailing your entire move.

The good news is that you don’t have to rely upon your own memory when it comes to planning out the process; we’ve created this handy checklist that will help guide you through your move—from eight weeks before, to the day of, and beyond.

Such a wonderful checklist! I have a moving to arrange since my husband got his new job and it seems this will be of huge help! Thanks for sharing!
  2. Do you have a printable version?
  3. This really is the most perfect moving checklist ever! I have moved many times and have helped many friends and relatives move also. This is basically the advice that I give them. However, one thing that people always forget to do is to hire a dumpster service. I know, it’s tacky to have a giant dumpster outside of your house but it is so worth it! At the last minute, people realize that they have a lot to throw away that they can’t take with them.

Hi Ann! We are happy to help. We ran a search based on the location that you provided us and these listings were generated: http://www.forrent.com/find/MA/metro-Boston/Medford
In terms of pricing, there is a search bar where you can enter your price range. It will narrow down the apartment listings to match your desired price. This search bar is located at the top portion of the website page on desktop view. On mobile, you’ll need to click the search icon at the top right of the page. In regards to availability for June 1st, you can contact the apartment property to see what they have available. We hope this helps, Ann! We wish you good luck on your search and move.

Hi. I’m 18 and wanting to move from Lima, OH to Michigan (not sure where yet, depends on who gets get to me). I’m in school currently and I have some time before I need to move which is in late august or early September of this year. Since I don’t own a home or anything like that. I don’t know the first thing about moving. Also am I even capable of moving to different state fresh out of school? Although, I found this checklist helpful even though some steps don’t apply to me.
