5 Tips to Keep Your House Clean With Minimal Effort

5 Tips to Keep Your House Clean With Minimal Effort

Cleaning house is hard work. It’s even harder when you have a busy schedule. It’s often what gets pushed to the side and overlooked day after day, but nobody wants to live in a dirty house. Today I’m going to share five tips with you on how to keep your house clean with minimal effort! Schedule a Deep Cleaning Day Deep cleaning is probably the hardest thing to get done. Nobody wants to scrub toilets for fun, so pick one day a week or perhaps biweekly; it really just depends on how often you are at home. Are you single? Do you have kids and pets? The depth of cleaning depends on your lifestyle, but regardless, pick a reasonable amount of time and put it on your calendar. This will be the worst of it, I promise! Clean Your Kitchen After Every Meal The kitchen is the heart of the home, right? Everyone uses the kitchen, and it’s easily the room that gets dirty the quickest. No matter what you do, eventually the dishes will pile up. There are a few options: You can spend an hour doing all your piled-up dishes or you can literally spend about 10 to 15 minutes doing it after each meal. Have you ever timed the dishes when you are only doing one meal’s worth? It goes a lot faster than you think. Give it a try for a week and you will see how much cleaner your house stays. Plus, it allows you to divide up all that time you would have spent if you had let it pile up. Cleaning Keep Kitchen Clean Keep Bathroom Counters Clear The bathroom is another space that seems to easily collect junk. Keeping your bathroom counters cleaned off makes it quicker and easier for you to get ready for the day, and it eliminates unnecessary clutter. Try keeping different items in a basket under your sink, in a drawer or in a linen closet. I like keeping everything in baskets because you can pull the whole basket down, use what you need, then put the whole basket back as opposed to putting up a bunch of small items. When you are done, grab a wipe and give the counter a once over; your bathroom will be clean as a whistle. Cleaning Keep Bathroom Counters Clear Use Decorative Storage Throughout Your House Trying to keep clutter down is something we all try, but in reality, it seems to multiply. One of my favorite ways to keep a house “picked up” is to incorporate functional and stylish storage into your décor. Baskets are a great way to hide necessary clutter like remote controls, small kitchen appliances and bathroom items. Cleaning Functional Storage Baskets Cleaning Tidy Living Areas Make the Most of Your Time Time management is a great way to incorporate cleaning into your daily routines. When you are watching a TV show or movie, utilize the commercial breaks to pick up your living room floor and organize your end tables. This is when those baskets come in handy! When you take a bathroom break from your favorite TV show, grab something and put it away while you are in there. Every time you leave a room, grab something to put in its correct place. It’s amazing how we can take 30 seconds doing something in a room we are already in to keep our house more organized! So I have shared with you how to keep your house not just picked up but clean, how to keep your kitchen and bathrooms organized, how to hide clutter and how to leverage time management. What are some of your favorite ways to keep your house tidy? And if you are looking for a few DIY ways to clean, be sure and check out this post!
