These natural tips will keep your home more environmentally friendly. Your roommates, family, and home will benefit from using these green apartment tips.   Refresh your rooms naturally. Instead of going to the store and buying aerosol sprays of air freshener, try warming natural ingredients on the stove. Cut up oranges and apples, and add cloves, cinnamon and oil. Baking cookies also provides a warm smell (and tastes good too). Use vinegar and baking soda. These two ingredients can effectively clean a variety of surfaces. Baking soda can also eliminate carpet and refrigerator odors. Boiling white vinegar is said to rid the house of foul cooking odors. Lemon juice can be used to remove stains and clean mirrors and windows. Lemon also will leave a clean scent around your apartment. This one may be surprising, but vodka removes odors and doesn’t leave a scent when dry. Put in a spray bottle and freshen clothes with the alcohol. Just don’t buy the flavored kind. Purchase environmentally safe cleaning products. If you would like to buy cleaning products, many companies produce “green” disinfectants and cleaners. Use these tricks throughout the house. In addition to having less harmful products around, you can also save money. Vinegar, baking soda, and lemons are all inexpensive and can be found at your local grocery.
