Changing Your Mailing Address After A Move

There’s a lot that comes with moving and sometimes it’s easy to forget the small stuff. With so much else going on, renters  will occasionally forget to change their address. Not to worry! We have some tips that will make changing your address a little easier. To continue receiving information from the government such as social security disability, retirement or survivors benefits or voter registration information. If you prefer to update your address online go here. If you would rather change this information in person visit the post office and drop off a change of address form. Don’t forget to change your utilities over to your new address. If you can, try not to cancel the bill to avoid possible new installation fees. About.com has a great utilities check list to ensure no utilities are left behind. Also, don’t forget to let your friends and family know where they can now reach you. Writing letters may not be as common place anymore but when they come, they are sure fun to receive!
