Try some of these natural carpet cleaning solutions on any stains and spots that may be on the carpets in your home. If you don’t want to add unnecessary chemicals to your home, this is the post for you! These solutions can be found in your cabinets and mixed to remove those stubborn carpet stains.
Any of these solutions may be the answer for that stubborn spot or stain, but always test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area before using. And try each one of these solutions, as different stains will react to different cleaning agents. The first solution is to mix a few drops of lemon essential oil with baking soda. Apply to the stain and let it set for at least a few hours. Mix distilled white vinegar equally with water and spray on the baking soda. The spot will fizz with the chemical reaction. Lay a rag over the stain and press to help remove. You may have to repeat this a few times on stubborn stains.
Want to give a different solution a try on that spot? Add the following ingredients to a spray bottle:
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- 2 cups water
- 2 tsp salt
- 15 drops lavender essential oil
Shake the mixture well to mix, then spray on your carpet liberally. Allow to dry, then vacuum your carpet.
Stain still staring you down? Mix ¾ cup of peroxide, 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 squirt of dishwashing liquid. Scrub the stain with the mixture and rinse well. Hopefully that stain is long gone!
