You may still be able to get that stripped screw out with a screwdriver. Make sure you use a screwdriver that fits the screw as closely as possible. If you need more leverage, you can grip the handle with a wrench. If the screw still won’t budge, you may need to add some extra material to get a better grip. Lay a rubber band over the head of the screw and press down on the hold with a screwdriver. This will give you more traction when turning. You can also try this with steel wool, duct tape, or an abrasive sponge. If that doesn’t work, try using super glue. Apply the glue to the screw head, and place the screwdriver into the hold. Let the glue dry, then unscrew as normal. More extreme methods may call for heating the screw. Do this only if it won’t damage the object it’s screwed into. Extra heat can loosen the screw threads, making it easier to remove. You may also use a hacksaw or rotary tool to cut into the screw, forming a flathead notch. Just remember to use safety glasses when doing this. With these easy steps, you’ll know how to remove a stripped screw. Further repairs should be a piece of cake.
