Paint your Own Backsplash

Paint your Own Backsplash

Backsplashes in kitchens are beautiful but can be pricey and time-consuming to create. Use these instructions to paint your own faux tiled backsplash. Get the same results and pretty look for a lot less money and time.

    What you will need:
  • Paint in the colors of your choice (for backsplash)
  • Paintbrush
  • Painter’s Tape
  • Ruler
Instructions: Step 1: Tape counter space along all of the walls and cabinets. Then, remove all switches, lightplates and any objects that might get in the way of your project. Step 2: Mark off the tile pattern. You can make the tiles as large or small as you like. Use the picture shown above for reference. Step 3: Paint the tiles in alternating colors. Try to keep to about three colors, any more can become confusing and overwhelming to look at. Recoat and let dry. After you are done, make sure you let the backsplash completely dry before you cook or perform any busy activities near the freshly painted area. Now you and your guests will be able to enjoy a new and interesting conversation starter, and you will have finished a new DIY project for your kitchen.
