Grab your washi tape, and get started on this snow day kids craft. The kids can make this themselves and come away with a gorgeous piece of art that will look amazing hanging in their room. Yes, it’s a craft that is so easy that even kids can make it look amazing. Plus, it only takes a few supplies.

Start with a board or canvas for your surface. You will also need freezer paper, craft paint, an assortment of washi or colored tapes and decoupage medium.

Start by painting your board or canvas the color of your choice, and set it aside to dry. Then trace a circle onto the shiny side of your freezer paper. Make it the size you want your finished circle to be on your finished piece. Don’t love the idea of a circle? Experiment with different shapes for your own unique spin on this project.

Start adhering the colored tapes in random order across the circle. Be sure to go past the outside edges of the circle. The only important part is that on this first layer, be sure that the tape is overlapping and completely covers the circle.

Then keep layering on tape strips in a variety of directions until you are happy with the results.

Cut out the circle along the line you traced.

You can then peel away the freezer paper from the back of the tape.

Adhere your circle to the center of your board or canvas. Then use decoupage medium to cover the top. Go over the entire board or canvas with the decoupage medium. This ensures that it will not lift off and will last for a really long time!

Allow this to dry completely before continuing.

Your washi tape snow day kids craft is ready to be displayed! Your kids will love creating something that will look great in their room. This is actually a quick and easy craft, but the kids can take as long as they want painting and sticking tape onto the paper. After all, it is a snow day, and you want them to be occupied for as long as possible!
