So, you’ve found your ideal apartment in the city and now you are ready to find your perfect romantic spot with your sweetheart! Atlanta is full of beautiful skylines and quaint spots that conjure up visions from romantic movies. No matter what your idea of an enchanting location is, you can find it in Atlanta and make it “your spot” with your love. Whether you need an idea for your next date night, or want to surprise your special someone for a sweet occasion, here are some dreamy ideas based on what you both value most.

For the one inspired by nature –

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

1345 Piedmont Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30309 ~ 404.876.5859

Twitter: @AtlBotanical

Inside a big city, it can sometimes be hard to find a good bit of nature. However, the centrally-located Atlanta Botanical Gardens does an incredible job of bringing a garden paradise to this urban area. Located on 30 acres of beauty, the Atlanta BG houses vast gardens and greenhouses that bring plants from all over the world to one place. In addition to daily entry into the gardens, the Atlanta BG also hosts special events (such as a night of dancing and cocktails for Valentine’s Day) and concerts, making it a haven you can keep coming back to over and over again. Bring your sweetheart to the Gardens to experience the awe of nature and the peacefulness of being together.

For the literature-admirer –

The Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse

499 Peachstree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308 ~ 404.874.5299

Twitter: @Shakespearetav

“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves.” If Shakespeare is speaking into your destiny, then he is leading you straight to the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse. This lovely theater looks like the Globe from the outside, and sounds like the Globe from the inside. The cast are phenomenal and shows run year-round. Plus, the Tavern also serves pre-show meals and authentic pints to those who want to enjoy the ambience for dinner before the play begins.

For great deals on general admission seats, buy tickets to the Preview Performances, which happen the Thursday and Friday before a play officially opens.

For the “Fries Before Guys” kind of date –

Leon’s Full Service

131 E Ponce De Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030 ~ 404.687.0500

Twitter: @Leonsdecatur

Known for its cocktails and incredible fries, Leon’s Full Service is a clash between a speakeasy vibe and foodie heaven. The front patio sparkling with lights and the dark wood interior, not to mention the classy garage decor, will make this a spot you’ll want to hang out at for quite a while. As soon as you are seated, order a bucket of their famous fries surrounded by signature sauces.

Insider tip: Can’t decide on which sauces to enjoy? Order them ALL!

Leon’s is located on E Ponce de Leon Avenue in Decatur Square, making it an ideal romantic spot for pre-dinner boutique shopping or after-dinner strolls around the square. Walk around the old Decatur courthouse to the gazebo if you want to have a “spontaneous” moonlight dance with your date.

For the art lover –

The High Museum of Art

1280 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309 ~ 404.733.4400

Twitter: @HighMuseumofArt

The High Museum of Art is one of the greatest art museums of the Southeast. It houses extensive works of art from all time periods and incredible rotating exhibitions, which in the past have included Monet’s Water Lilies, the Terracotta Army, and Dream Cars. For a sweet date night, the High offers late hours from 6-9pm on the first Friday of every month, complete with live performances to watch and adult beverages to purchase. Then, two weeks later, the third Friday of every month is Friday Jazz, with live music and art until 10pm. What better way to enjoy art culture in the city?

What city is complete without a towering ferris wheel? Skyview Atlanta is almost 20 stories high and centrally located by the famous Centennial Olympic Park. With completely enclosed gondolas, this is a great addition to a date night at any time of year, especially if you want to have a sky-high view of your favorite city at night.

For a bit more action –

Medieval Times

5900 Sugarloaf Pkwy Suite 517, Lawrenceville, GA 30043 ~770-225-0230

Twitter: @MedievalTimes

Medieval Times is the full deal. As soon as you enter the castle, you and your date will be greeted by royalty and set at ease by a large fire and welcoming bar. Once you enter the arena, a full medieval meal (complete with absolutely no utensils) and a show await you. Medieval Times is a great place to relax, delve into a different time period, and cheer for your favorite knight as he valiantly jousts and fights hand-to-hand with his competitors.
