Korean BBQ cuisine is one of the most delicious on the planet. Rich with delectable flavor, you really can’t go wrong with it. With so many options in New York City, it can be hard to pin down the best Korean BBQ restaurants around. We’ve narrowed down the list just for you! Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong (Koreatown) This popular joint in Koreatown is known for its fine dining spin on Korean BBQ favorites like bulgogi (sirloin) and kalbi (beef ribs). Opened by an ex-wrestler, the word on the street surrounding the restaurant has been so good that famed Chef David Chang made it a point to eat here. Shilla (Midtown West) With a friendly staff and killer menu, Midtown’s Shilla is a Korean BBQ dream come true. The bulgogi is superb, naturally, but other items on the menu stand out as well: The marinated Black Pork Belly is to die for, and the Tuck Po Ki (a rice cake stew) is unique and delicious as well. Miss Korea BBQ (Koreatown) This wonderful place is open 24/7, so you can satisfy your Korean BBQ cravings whenever you please. The menu item to really try here is the clay pot kalbi — the meat is marinated for an incredible 48 hours!

BANN (Hell’s Kitchen) BANN is a little pricier than most Korean BBQ restaurants, but it’s worth the extra dent in your wallet. The barbecue is a must-try, especially the platter comprised of kalbi, bulgogi, shrimp and salmon. The happy hour is also a treat. From 4 to 9 p.m. daily, certain cocktails and beer are only $5. Gaonnuri (Koreatown) This great dining spot is located on the 39th floor of a Koreatown skyscraper. But the amazing view comes second to the delicious food. Short ribs, duck breast and kimchi are real standouts on the menu. Mapo BBQ (Queens) Mapo is more of an old-school joint, serving up Korean BBQ the old-fashioned way, which means cooking meat over charcoal. This makes for a smoky and delicious, meaty menu.

Hangawi (Midtown East) This Midtown spot offers up meat-free delicacies for all you vegetarians out there. Check out its delectable Spicy Kimchi Mushroom pancakes; you will not be disappointed! Hangawi also offers a special gluten-free menu, if needed. Muk Eun Ji (Midtown West) This place is known for its kimchi, which is aged and highly fermented to delicious perfection. There is an entire menu dedicated to kimchi (and rightfully so), but don’t worry, there are delicious barbecue options available as well. Hahm Ji Bach (Queens) With more than a dozen cuts of meat to choose from, this restaurant knows how to do BBQ right. Serving classics like bulgogi and kalbi to more unique fare like pork neck and blowfish, Hahm Ji Bach has got it all covered. But if you really want the best it has to offer, try the pork belly. You won’t regret it.
