Apartment is Amazing
Highly recommend Casa Elvida Apts. From the minute we walked in, we fell in love with the place. The floor plan and the amount of space was perfect for what we needed. Monthly rent was very fair and affordable. The unit was newly renovated and looks amazing inside. Sylvia, the onsite manager was very friendly and helpful with all our questions and concerns. She made us feel right at home from the start. Not to mention she was kind of enough to surprise us with many house warming gifts throughout... the apartment, when we received our keys and first walked in. Definitely deserves 5 stars!!!

Property Management Does Not Play Fair
New property management, SCI Rentals, increased rent by $356 in a span of 9 months. They phased out current tenants with the intention of placing new tenants in their units. Units were old as it was not maintained to remain up to date by the previous owner, but the previous low rent cost made this justifiable. The apartment complex itself is very old and SCI Rentals is using their resources fixing the landscaping (yard maintenance was there every Monday) and pool without offering their... grandfathered tenants any necessary repair to improve the quality of their units to justify the $356 increase in rent. Laundry room was poorly maintained, the washers and dryers were old and dated and parking garages provided an open access for dumpster divers which made me uncomfortable and unsafe every morning while I am with my children. The dumpster was always filthy and overflowing 2-3 days prior to trash collection. Our unit was poorly insulated and caused for a lot of moisture during the winter months which led to growing mold in our windows. The only positive experience we had under SCI Rentals was they allowed us to pay our rent online without any fees and they responded to repair requests in a timely manner. However, upon moving out, they are charging repair costs that is more than doubled our security deposits just for them to tear down and remodel their newly vacant units.
The rent cost did not match the living standards we all deserve.

Owner will try to take every penny out of you.
I do not recommend these apartments. They've gotten very strict on using the pool, if you have a maintenance issue, they take their sweet time, the owner (not the manager) will blame you for everything and try to make you pay for it. If you do move in, make sure you inspect every little issue, because when you move out, you WILL PAY FOR IT.

NOT GOOD MANAGEMENT
I moved in to Casa Elvida about 5 years ago and I had access to the rec room were you could play pool and have birthday party's for your kids. About 4 years ago the old manager moved out an a new one moved in. Since then we no longer have access to the rec room to play pool, no more pool parties or birthday party's for your kids at the apartment. If your kids run to fast are playing with the or children to loud you would get in trouble. kids are kids let them have fun, let them go outside and... play and have some fun interacting with the other kids. If you want or need any maintenance done on your apartment it take about week to a month to get fixed. sometimes they will send you the bill for what repairs that had to be done (BECAUSE THEY WOULD SAY YOU CAUSED THE PROBLEM). Lastly why pay rent at a place that you can't use the rec room, have birthday party's and were your kids can't play outside without you getting in trouble and they need to open the rec room back up so that the tenets will fill more appreciated.
