3860 Mentone Ave

Building management takes years to resolve problems (I've had an ongoing major problem for 4.5 years I've repeatedly asked to be fixed, but there's always an excuse as to why it's not done.) This utter nonsense would bring my review down to zero stars under different circumstances.

Reasons I bumped it up to 3:

1) Rent is quite reasonable. The apartment is not awful; it is not fancy. It is not tiny, it is not large. It's quite average in pretty much every way, (with the added bonus of covered,... assigned off-street parking) and yet rent is little bit lower than average for the general area.

2) Speaking of the general area - it is in a great location. Within 3-4 blocks are several coffee shops, a major grocery store, Rite Aid, etc. so you can run a ton of errands on foot on the weekends. Yet, Mentone is a quiet, 1-block street (here) due to Sony on one end and a median strip preventing through traffic off of Venice on the other. Further away, but still within walking distance (flat surfaces both directions) is the heart downtown Culver City featuring a weekly farmer's market and a ton of great restaurants and bars from which to choose for lunch or a night out.
