decent-ish

Lived here for a few years, truly loved it at first and the management team but after the switch to different management things have turned. I’ll first say I love the maintenance team they are awesome! But office staff no they are extremely lazy and have major attitude. They will only give you a short notice not even 24hr notice sometimes letting you know power is being shut down or needing to come inside the apartment to do some quick maintenance or having to do work on the balcony. It’s hard... when you work from home and need that power or when your not home and have to find a sitter for your pets because people will be entering your apartment with you not being home cause of work and for it being such a short notice can’t even let work know. They used to be really good and on top of things but it’s just gone down hill since the new management change. This complex is on the main roads of Folsom so it is extremely loud. There’s no peace and if so you will hear people living in their cars outside your apartment in the parking lot and playing in the parking lot. There is a huge marathon that happens every year in December people who have been here know cause 2yrs ago was its first year being hosted right in front of our complex. Last year our complex didn’t notify us until not even 24hrs before the event. During 10pm-10am you are locked in your complex with no way in our out. So if you have an emergency of any sort to bad. So yearly for one night you are basically kicked out of your home and having to find somewhere else, do to safety and it’s so extremely loud they play loud music on speakers at 2am and talk on microphones. It’s not fun.
This place is decent to live in. Small apartments for the price you pay but maintenance is super nice and helps instantly, pest constellation comes weekly and so does landscapers and the people who live here are nice too.

The worst community management team

My wife and I lived at Lake Pointe apartments for 4.5 years (from 2018 through 2022) and saw different office managers/agents come and go, so believe me I had plenty of time to get an impression about this place.
First of all I want to point out that all my concerns are not about maintenance team, Michael and Jim are amazing, they were always helpful and went above and beyond to help with any property issues.
The problem is people working in the leasing office: it doesn't matter if it's an...
office manager or assistant, they all don't care about you, from the moment you sign the lease agreement they stop being helpful, they stop listening and don't even try to solve any property-related problems. And it's getting worse and worse with every new office manager, they don't even try to be polite anymore, they get irritated simply because you come to their office and ask questions. They constantly make mistakes in documents and don't even think to apologies, they always promise you to do something and don't do it; you ask them again, they promise to work on your request again yet still don't do it, seems like on purpose. Almost all of them are incompetent and probably hate working in that office. The list of problems goes on, I will list just a few situations I was faced with throughout these years:
- There was a major construction between 2019-2021. It was a disaster because they never knew for how long it would continue, what work and when to expect next and they never started work on the dates they promised.
- There was a big nice tennis/basketball court used by many people until management decided to demolish it and build a parking lot instead. Despite the fact lots of people were against this and even signed a petition they still destroyed the sport court. Most parking spots they added are numbered and not available to everybody.
- In 2020 my bike was stolen right from my patio and a few months later we had an incident with some guy masturbating right under our window. We filed a police report and when I asked management to install at least few security cameras they told me this is too expensive. At the same time they have 2 security cameras for one tiny gym. They don't care about your safety but they worry someone steals their gym equipment.
So from my experience the only thing they care is money, you are of no interest for them whatsoever.

Rodents in walls of units

We lived at Lake Pointe for 6 years and for 5 of those years, our experience was a positive one. So much so, that we decided to move into a bigger apartment in the complex. Unfortunately a new apartment brought on a new set of problems. A couple months after we moved, the leasing office underwent a staff change. Ursula the office manager and Gina the leasing consultant (who we LOVED) were replaced by Brandy and Karen.
In October of 2018, we starting hearing scratching noises from what I assume...
was a rodent living in the ceiling and walls of our bedroom. I was pregnant at the time and the last thing I wanted was a rodent making its way into my apartment before my baby was born. I called Karen and informed her of the problem and she told me that she would send pest control out on a Friday to evaluate the issue and follow up with me. To wrap up this review, as of April 2019 there are still rodents living in the apartment and the police activity has increased. Thankfully, we have since moved out of the complex. If you're looking to rent an apartment in Folsom, don't even bother looking at Lake Pointe. Their apartments seem affordable compared to other places in Folsom, but you get what you pay for...rodents breeding in your walls, shady office management, and police presence.
