Serrano Apartment Homes

The office is unstable. Sometimes they are great and sometimes they are useless. There is construction going on right now and has been going on for the past year. It is so loud and uncomfortable to live here.

I'm already leaving in an Irvine Company Community and intended to move to Serrano to be closer to the high school for next year.

We met Garrett which has been really help full and pleasant. We finally got the apartment we have been looking for a year, first floor apartment really hard to get. So we signed the offer to hold it and paid for that $290.
The screening didn't worked even if you're already with Irvine company you have paid for the last 4 years your rent without being late once, you… still need to demonstrate that you are able to cover the rent which I think is really a pity and shame.

We left so happy and already planning to move, unfortunately we had some personal issues which didn't allow us to finalize the move. I went to cancel the hold on Thursday afternoon after I finally got off work and got my answer which blocked us to change of community.

I went to see Garrett, and sadly confirm to cancel, my question was when will I get back the $200, $290 minus the screening fees. I got the following answer, sorry you passed the 72 hours delay to cancel. I'm terribly sorry I went exactly 94 hours after I signed the paper and I didn't expected my problems to stop us to move. So I have asked to see the community manager which is the only one that can help and decide in that situation but he was gone already for the day. Okay. I have been told he will contact me to discuss. Friday afternoon, I go back there because didn't get any phone call, I could have meet the assistant community manager but same answer she can't decide and now the manager is away until next Tuesday when he return he will contact me funny no.

A week after this tuesday, I received a letter confirming that I didn't own any money to Serrano apartment but also showing that I can seat down on my $200 deposit which is for me an extortion because we have paid for nothing and there is such an important demand and waiting list for those apartment, I'm pretty sure the next day I cancelled it was already rented.
But I'm still really surprise by such a poor management and a lack of consideration for customer because we are in a service world and I think when you pay your rent you also pay their salary.
If it would have been settled the right way we were thinking about applying the following year to move there, but I wouldn't recommend anybody to rent at Serrano because of the poor management. Read More

Grounds are very well kept. Pools areas are nice and clean. Maintenance response times are excellent. It's a little expensive but everything in Irvine/south Orange County is expensive. I think all units have laundry inside the apt which was a requirement for me. I pay $1835/month ( utilities) for a 1bed/1bath a den. Interior trim is pretty basic, Formica countertops, linoleum and carpet on the floors which means no granite and hardwoods like some newer places have. That said, the price is… cheaper than those with nicer finishes. Proximity to freeway (I5)is fantastic. Lots of restaurants and movie theater within walking distance.(Tustin Marketplace) Easy access to walking biking trail. Not a ton of kids around and I generally don't hear my neighbors so it stays pretty quite. Residents keep to themselves but are friendly. Parking is not really a problem for residents or guests. Cox cable or direct tv are available. I wanted att but it was not available. Dry cleaning service through the leasing office is a nice convenience and very reasonably priced. Leasing office also accepts packages on your behalf which is great if you Amazon Prime a lot and don't want it siting outside. Great complex in OC. Close to amenities and the 5 freeway. Fast and friendly maintenance staff. Grounds are well kept. Pools are great. Neighbors are friendly but mostly keep to themselves. Handy dry cleaning service pick up and drop off at the leasing office. I've lived here for 2 years and would recommend it.
