Light sleepers beware!
Do not consider moving into Apt. 1 if you believe you're a light sleeper or have trouble falling asleep. The bedroom shares an underground "wall" with a small commercial parking garage, and all the windows are directly across from a hospice - one would assume a hospice does not produce much noise - I wish that were the case. There WILL occasionally be alarms triggering outside of your window between 2:30 am - 3:30 am, there will be cars honking in the garage, there will be delivery drivers... rolling metal carts down into the garage between 4 am - 5 am. All of these sounds will sound as if they are directly below your bed. Additionally, any loud noises coming from Santa Monica Blvd. will be amplified by the echo chamber under your bed as well, construction noises are twice as loud, people leaving Mom's Bar, homeless people screaming at each other, etc. The apartment would otherwise be excellent, but for anyone who can't handle consistent noise around their home I extend this warning in good heart.
You will never experience peace and quiet here, and I feel that the price being asked is not fair when that's taken into consideration.
I do want to mention - all the neighbors are great people and the property manager is excellent and a very understanding and kind gentleman. It just seems as if the owner doesn't really care about his tenants aside from their capacity to earn him money.
