Exceptional Living Experience — Stellar Management and Ownership

Living at Barrington Row has been an absolutely phenomenal experience. The building itself is gorgeous and meticulously maintained, but what truly sets this community apart is the outstanding property management and ownership team. From day one, the management staff has been incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely invested in the residents' comfort. Any minor maintenance request I have submitted was addressed immediately and thoroughly. It is abundantly clear that the ownership takes... immense pride in this property, ensuring it remains a premium, comfortable place to call home while fostering transparent and friendly communication with the community. If you are looking for a stress-free, beautifully managed building where residents are truly valued and heard, I cannot recommend Barrington Row highly enough. An easy 5-star community!

Poor Management, Floods, and Impossible Parking

Our apartment flooded not once, not twice, but three separate times. After the third flood, we were asked to “remove belongings from kitchen cabinets so they could access electrical outlets.” We were also sent an image indicating where repairs would be done, which appeared to be a relatively small portion of the kitchen. So imagine our surprise when we came home to find our entire kitchen and dining room completely demoed, all of our belongings moved into the living room, cabinets sitting in the... middle of the living room, and grout and dust everywhere. We were told repairs were promptly underway and that the target was to have us back in the unit within a month. A month later, the apartment looked exactly as it had the day it was demoed.

I understand that flooding and water damage can happen and that's largely beyond anyone's control. What I cannot understand is the way it was handled by building management. We were repeatedly told the delays were due to waiting for the unit to “dry out” and for technicians to become available. Weeks later we were told the holdup was actually related to insurance issues and that there was no target date for when the unit would be ready. The holdup had been due to insurance all along, despite the fact that this had not been communicated to us directly or transparently for weeks.

This was not an isolated issue. Throughout our tenancy, it was like pulling teeth to get ahold of management for requests both big and small. For months, we flagged that there was a humidity and ventilation issue in our unit. The humidity was consistently in the 80s and even 90s, and our bedsheets were quite literally damp at all times. A bug issue quickly became a problem since they flocked to the moisture trapped in our unit. Management did nothing to resolve this for months. When they finally did address it, they admitted that the ventilation system had not been properly installed in the first place and needed to be repaired.

In addition to frustration without specific unit, the parking garage is vending-machine style, and residents should be prepared to regularly wait at least 20–40 minutes to store or retrieve their vehicle. At least once a week, if not multiple times a week, one or both of the garage bays will be inoperable due to technical issues, making an already frustrating system even more inconvenient. So, be prepared to sit in your car for almost an hour after getting home from work each night as you wait to park your vehicle.

Property Manager at Barrington Row responded to this review

Hi Sophie, we are very sorry to hear about your frustrations. The flooding was an unprecedented and stressful situation for everyone, and we apologize for the delays caused by insurance and vendor scheduling. We also want to clarify the status of... your utility reimbursement: our team ran a full usage analysis, and a credit of $272.21 for the overage was successfully applied to your account on June 30th and included in your final security deposit refund. We appreciate your feedback regarding the parking garage and are actively working with our vendors to improve its reliability. We wish you the best in your new home.
