Studio Apt
The apts at 709 are spacious for older 1930's apts. They need to be updated with better bathrooms and kitchens. We did just get security even though we are a small property. That is a big plus and makes us all feel safer.

709 Mariposa
My fiancé and I moved in to the 709 Mariposa apartments in September 2014. We have been there for almost a year, and in such little time a lot has changed.
Two days after moving in to the apartment we tried washing our dishes with the dishwasher that was included with the apartment. The dishwasher did not work, at all. We mentioned the problem to management. They said they would get the dishwasher replaces soon. After about two weeks they got a technician to go and JUST look at the... dishwasher. After a couple of days we asked management what was the delay with having the dishwasher fixed and they claimed to have switched vendors and would get back to us as soon as they could. Until this day we have not had our dishwasher fixed.
The building manager that was there when we moved in just disappeared after the third month. We do not know what happened or why he was gone. All that the tenants knew was to not provide him anymore money because he was no longer the manager. We were not even told this personally. Just by letters that had been taped to the walls in the halls and doors throughout the building.
A few months after moving in the door system stopped working. First when we would put in the passcode the door would buzz as if it was going to open, but didn't. After a week of being like that the door didn't even buzz anymore.
The building had beautiful plants all over the side, it gave it a nice appeal! But after the new management tool over, they removed it all. In my opinion it makes the building look worse.
In the last couple months things have been improving. The new management is working on fixing the roof, they have hired security to guard the buildings at night, and they FINALLY fixed the door system.
Overall I know that things could be a lot worse, but they could be slightly better too. All I can say is that this place has been an okay temporary place to live. But now it is time for my fiancé and I to find a new home to settle down in.
