Living here feels like I accidentally signed a lease inside a social experiment.
There’s one elevator—just one—for the entire building. It smells like a wet dog that lost its will to live, and it breaks down so often I’ve started considering mountaineering gear just to reach my apartment. If you’re on the 7th floor, congratulations—you now live in a cardio program.
The electronic door locks are a fun little gamble. Will you get inside today? Who knows. It’s like Vegas, but instead of money,... you’re betting your ability to enter your own home.
NorthOak property management? Impressive, honestly. I didn’t know it was possible to be both completely absent and consistently disappointing at the same time.
Construction is nonstop. I don’t know what they’re building, but at this point I assume it’s a time machine so I can go back and not sign this lease.
And the trash chutes? Half the time they don’t work, so taking out the trash turns into a strategic operation involving timing, luck, and emotional resilience.
Now let’s talk electricity—because apparently that’s optional here. I’ve lived in two different units, and somehow both of them couldn’t handle my laptop. Not a gaming rig. Not a server farm. A laptop. At this point I’m convinced the building is powered by a couple of AA batteries and hope.
Overall, if you’ve ever wanted to pay rent to experience mild inconvenience at all times, this is your place.
