Korea Town living

This apartment was great. I lived in a studio on the fourth floor. For one, the studio space was bigger than I imagined, approximately 700 sq feet which is pretty good compared to other studios. The floors were wooden and the kitchen was surprisingly up to date. They did a great job remodeling the place overall and it looked brand new. It's a great building to live in because it's in the heart of Central Los Angeles. You are close to everything too, like Downtown, Hollywood, and Culver City;... Santa Monica isn't that far, permitting traffic does not build up. Using uber in this area is recommended, because parking in Korea town is no joke and you're likely to lose your spot especially if you leave at night. PLENTY of places to eat. I felt like I was in buffet heaven with all the options that area had to offer. Manager was extremely nice and always looking to help other people. Another great thing is they allow pets so if you have a best friend, you are good to go. Unfortunately, there isn't a pool in the apartment and living on the fourth floor got pretty hot, especially in the summer. It's an old building, built in the 30's so there isn't any AC. I bought a fan but that proved useless in the LA heat. Other than that, it's a pretty pleasant place to live. Never experienced any crime or danger in this area and there are schools nearby. Overall, it was a good experience and I recommend living here to someone else.

Nice apartment peaceful neighborhood.

Very nice apartment moved here in 2012 and not one single problem, manager is very understanding and helpful when there is a need for help and very quick response time if there is an issue. Overall pretty satisfy with the location.

Safe, quiet & afforable with some downsides.

I've lived in this building for three years. Most of that time as a single female. I mention that because given the location of the apartment, on a side street just off of Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown, I have always felt reasonably safe both in the building and on this street. The building feels old - especially with the elevator which can just about fit two people and doesn't have automatic doors - but my one bedroom apartment is large for the rent, the building is pretty quiet and the woman that... manages the building is wonderful. The road isn't bad considering there is a very popular Korean chicken restaurant on the corner which can make for crazy traffic at times. It can be loud at night sometimes because the buildings make everything said on ground level echo and amplify but I'll take a bit of noise over any real danger and I've never seen any overly threatening behavior. Serious downsides to the apartment is no air conditioning and the building does get really hot and has weirdly shaped windows that makes a window unit difficult, no parking - I pay $115 a month for a spot at garage a block a way (worth it!)- and occasional roach issues. However, every time I have had a problem with roaches, I've told the manager and they've treated my apartment and the pests have gone away for months.

quiet exposed brick parking wars studio.

I've liked living here, the rent is manageable (but going up this next month) and my dog is welcome and comfortable in this studio. However the lack of parking and the ease of the LA parking enforcement dogs to give tickets to anyone and everyone makes this area unlivable for any Angelino with a car. I did love the exposed brick and wood floors but didn't love the lack of a working heater, dimming lighting, and I must say a terrible bed bug scare. The washer and dryer, old elevator, old... appliances are part of the age of this building but is no longer for me. So onto better things (a designated parking spot).
