The kitchen and bathrooms... were recently upgraded with travertine marble flooring. granite counters, new sinks, faucets, light fixtures, hardware, etc. Kitchen recently got beautiful new custom cherry wood cabinets. There is a large balcony with terra cotta tile. Apt. has double paned vinyl windows and sliding glass door for noise and energy efficiency. Unit is in a beautiful controlled access building which has recently been redone outside with new modern paint colors, a stacked stone facade and new landscaping. There is gated subterranean parking , a lovely lobby with hand painted murals, courtyard, sundeck, roof deck with ocean views, laundry facilities on each floor, 2 elevators, and a rec room with treadmill and pool table. Very Good Experience Here

I have very much enjoyed my time here at Ocean Gate Towers. I am living in a very large apartment with a view of the city lights. If I need a repair done, I drop a note or an email to the manager who is always quick to follow up. My dishwasher conked out and within 2 days I had a new one. They are very responsible in maintaining the common areas which are clean and well cared for. My apartment is really nice and completely remodeled. There are 2 elevators and the manager said they have a... full service contract with an elevator company for any repairs. Since I am on an upper floor, that gives me confidence. I can walk to the beach in 2 minutes. This building is on Catalina Avenue which is not a crazy busy street like.The Esplanade. My guests have had no trouble finding parking. I made a good choice to move here and plan to stay.

Very Happy Living Here

I have been living at Ocean Gate Towers for 2 years. It is a great place! Manager, Anthony, started here shortly after I moved in and he is responsive, reliable, a nice to deal with. He takes care of getting repairs done in a timely manner. He seems to truly care about the tenants. I have an ocean view apartment which is big and remodeled. A janitor comes often for the common areas. There are 02 elevators and only in around 2 occasions has one been down since I have lived here. They... have never been down at the same time. The building is quiet and I enjoy living here.

Great Property

I have been living at Ocean Gate Towers for 3 years. Love it here. I have an ocean view unit. Manager, Anthony, is responsible and well organized. My unit was remodeled and looks great. Building is 1 block to the beach. Would recommend.

Great location, terrible ownership

We lived at this location for 2 years and even though the location is amazing, the ownership and customer service is terrible. Here are the pros and cons overall so that you can decide for yourself if you would want to live here.

Pros:
- location
- elevator
- parking in building
- 1 laundry machine on every floor
- quiet building / neighborhood

Cons:
- over priced
- elevator is broken about half of the time
-slow to respond to requests for maintenance (e.g. It took 2 months with numerous... calls / emails to get our screens fixed)
- owner is very difficult to deal with and tries to charge us for the smallest things including standard wear and tear such as light bulbs
