Stonewood Apartments

Great place to live. Manager is awesome and very helpful with all of your needs. Definitely recommend checking this place out

Cons:
1) I was on the west side, opposite of Van Buren. The private homes next door have dogs that barked at all times of the day and night.
2) My air conditioner was very old and noisy.
3) The kitchen counter and cabinets were old and desperately needed to be replaced. The counter got very minor damage from normal use. The manager, claimed that I had damaged the finish, and charged me $130 to refinish it when the should have been replaced. So not only did I have a counter that was… badly in need of replacement, I had to pay to resurface it.
4) The bathroom sink and counter were in even worse shape. During the year I lived at Stonewood, the sink developed pits. Johanna told me I shouldn't have used scouring powder to clean it. The maintenance guys came to unclog my sink numerous times. Not once did they ask me why the sink was getting pitted. Nor did they report it to Johanna. Unless they knew that the ancient sink gets pitted from normal use, which makes sense because it was resurfaced instead of replaced. I was hosed me for $70.
5) I was told that a new carpet had been laid before I moved in. Staggeringly, the carpet in front of my couch got quite dirty too, even though I went barefoot inside! The only explanation I can think of is that a poor quality carpet was installed. Not only did I have to live with the dirt that would not have been there had a decent quality carpet been installed, but I was hosed for the costs to clean it ($30 for the stains, $40 for a complete carpet cleaning.) The latter is bogus too—the apartment is so small that almost all of the carpet was covered with furniture and boxes.
6) The lease says that if I live in the apartment for less than two years, I have to pay the pro rata cost of repainting it! I've lived in about 10 apartments, and have never been hosed in this way before. Cost: $82.50.
7) No refrigerator. You can rent one for $30/month.


Pros:

1) Stonewood is very close to 91 and to Magnolia, the main commercial street. Less than 10 miles from 60 and 15.

I always receive a prompt reply to any concerns or problems I have. The staff from grounds and maintenance to the office are always available and friendly. The apartments are conveniently located near local freeways.

Hi I live in riverside ca and in the apartments called Stonewood been living here for 4 years already and I'm paying 840 for a studio, yup a studio it's small and average looking but it's been my home for the past years I would love to win the free rent it would be such a blessing.....
