After five years at Del Rio, saying goodbye is bittersweet. The easy trolley access made exploring San Diego a breeze, but the real highlight was the incredible staff. The maintenance team and office crew consistently went above and beyond, treating residents with genuine kindness and professionalism.We loved spending time at the pool, grilling areas, and gym, and the lush grounds made evening strolls something we looked forward to every day. I strongly advise anyone considering this apartment complex to look elsewhere. This has been one of the worst places I have ever lived. The management is incredibly incompetent and seems completely disconnected from the reality of what residents deal with on a daily basis or just don’t seem to care. Complaints are diminished and disregarded, minus the great maintenance crew.

The noise is relentless. You can hear everything because the buildings appear to have little to no insulation.… Conversations, footsteps, slamming doors, car alarms, and other disturbances travel through the walls constantly, making it nearly impossible to enjoy peace and quiet or get a decent night’s sleep.

Safety is another major concern. The property often feels unsafe, and management does little to address ongoing issues. Police presence is common as well as Package theft.

On top of that, there are pest problems and mold issues that should never be acceptable in any residential community.

Save yourself the stress, frustration, and disappointment. There are far better places to live where management actually cares about its residents and takes responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy environment. This place does not. This has by far been the worst experience I have had with an apartment complex and I have been living in apartment complexes all my life. Just don't do it. Go find yourself a nice apartment complex elsewhere. Del Rio and Irvine company only and only care about the money and do nothing about sound/smoke complaints. Due to noises made by our upstairs neighbors, we haven't had a good night sleep in 7 months. Our experience with Irvine company has made us feel rage and anger all the time. My husband… and I are peaceful and quiet people working 9 to 5 jobs. Having to deal with Del Rio office people has wasted so much of our time and has negatively affected our mental and physical health.

The apartments simply do not have the proper infrastructure for a quiet living. If you are living in the first or second floor, you can hear every foot step of your neighbors. To add to the issue, our neighbors are 4 young men with different schedules. Two of them are extremely noisy during the day and two are extremely noisy from 12 am all the way to 5 am. We live in a hell and cannot get any sleep because the ceiling has zero insulation and these guys walk very heavily.

We have been recording the noise they make for about 7 month. But the office did absolutely nothing about it. They actually accused us of having recorded noises made by ourselves (to prove them wrong we have video recordings as well where we are just sitting on the bed and listening to the neighbors' noise late at night). They then said that the recordings did not met the excessive noise threshold (they forgot to inform us what noise level counts as excessive from 12 am to 5 am). Despite all the evidence, they did not wave the lease-break penalty for us, knowing full well that we could not take the case to the court since we have signed an arbitration agreement.

From the bottom of my heart, if you wish to live a peaceful and quiet life do not live in Del Rio. Read More
