NIGHTMARE MANAGMENT - The Casas/Greystar

DO NOT MOVE HERE.

The Casas Apartments, managed by Greystar, have been the most stressful and disappointing living experience I’ve ever had. From the beginning, there have been serious issues with communication, incorrect rent ledgers, and false notices—including a 3-day notice taped to my door based on inaccurate charges that were never explained to me properly, despite repeated requests.

Management frequently sends conflicting information through email, text, and paper notices, and fails to...
follow through on promised resolutions. Since moving in, I’ve submitted multiple work orders, including for a broken hot tub that has still not been fixed six months later. I’ve also experienced delayed or no responses to maintenance concerns, even when health or safety was involved.

Staff are often dismissive, avoid accountability, and make it difficult to get answers. After I brought up legitimate concerns, I was ignored for over a month, and communication became increasingly evasive. I’ve documented everything and have had to seek legal help due to suspected tenant rights violations.

The website shows staged images and marketing copy that don’t reflect the actual condition of the property. During my first tour, the patio area outside my unit had excessive dog waste that hadn’t been cleaned—yet the unit was labeled “ready.”

While my unit itself is livable, the overall experience has been exhausting. I feel a responsibility to share what I’ve dealt with so that other renters can make informed decisions. Management issues are ongoing, and the stress is simply not worth it. I would not recommend living here.

Verified Renter

40 year old buildings in serious need of a lot of TLC. Each management team plays “kick the can” in regards to maintenance requests, regulatory compliance (pool/spa at two different complexes) closed by health department, crumbling infrastructure. Trees are way overgrown, partially dead and a hazard. Laundry facilities maintained by third party vendor and there is ALWAYS machines out of order. Residents are allowed to use their patios, common area and stairs/stairwells to store trash, equipment,... recycling, toys, tools. Each units share of common area pest control, water, electric etc. is out of sight. Dumpster enclosures, mailboxes, landscaping, carports in serious need of repairs, updating and attention. Vendor used to provide landscaping does the bare minimum. The complexes are full of weeds that are bigger than the surrounding plants and bushes. With the exception of rent collection all other rules, regulations and lease provisions are simply ignored. Significant issues with the unhoused population sleeping in common areas, green belt, parking lot, pool area restrooms. The unhoused population reqularly scale pool area fence to take a bath in the spa/pool. They also use the spa jets to assist using the spa jets to wash their clothes, blankets and dogs. Supposedly there is 24 hour security available to respond for after hour emergencies but when I have called in the past I don’t think anyone has responded. They charge some of the highest rents in the area. Units are good size but need serious maintenance - tub/shower enclosures peeling, any holes or leaks are fixed by applying copious amounts of chaulk, roof leaks are very common.

We’ve lived here for over five years and I can’t say my experience has been great overall. It’s extremely expensive to live here and they don’t keep up on anything. The only reason why we are still here is because the location is great and we don’t want to move.The parking is not monitored and there has been a light out for years at this point outside. The lights in the parking lot have not always been on and we’ve had to complain to get them to go back on. The laundry room is supposed to be... closed at 10 PM and it never is. The first couple of years we did have people monitoring the parking lot and laundry room. A few months ago, somebody broke into one of the units and was living in there and nobody even knew they need to do a better job of monitoring Property.
