Valentia

Apartment was not ready for move in. I have lived at Valentia for nearly 3 months now and when I tell you it is NOT worth the rent cost, trust me on this. I moved into the apartment with a termite infestation and am still dealing with this nightmare. I requested one month free rent in return for the extensive troubles (moving in with a corroded/leaking faucet, termite infestation, unreachable attic door open letting bugs in, damaged mirror, dry rotted bedroom door to patio, being told via email… the wrong mailbox at move in, and the list goes on and on), and I have only been compensated $500, despite moving into the unlivable conditions, and rent is more than 6x that for a 1br apartment. Termite droppings literally come out of my vent and I need to clean them up daily. At move in, I let them know that the termite infested door and frame to my bedroom needed to be replaced ASAP and it still has yet to get done. The vendor came today, but had not been informed that the entire door frame would need to be replaced due to the extensive termite damage, so they’ll have to come back tomorrow. I find that lack of communication interesting. I have had to miss work over this, and people are constantly coming in and out of my apartment to fix things or treat termites. My husband and I have lived at Valentia for almost a year. Hands down these are the nicest and largest apartments in the area that allow dogs. I believe every apartment has vaulted ceilings and a huge patio. Plus having a full size washer and dryer in the unit is amazing. I really wish the kitchen and bathroom were a bit larger and had more storage. We are also on the second floor of a building facing west so we don't get a lot of light in the apartment. Other than that these apartments are… great.

Staff in the office is very attentive and any issues we've had, be that with residents or maintenance, have been resolved quickly. The community is quiet and people tend to keep to themselves, but are still friendly. Lots of college kids and young families here, but even with college kids parties are rarely an issue.The community has 2 pools, 3 hot tubs, and plenty of seating outdoors.

I would definitely recommend Valentia to anyone looking for an apartment. These apartments are a great size and the price isn't terrible for the area. Read More

Living here has been a pleasure! Not only are the apartments beautiful and not typical apartments more like condos, the staff is friendly and attentive. Grounds are always well kept. Security at night.

Ideally situated in La Jolla/UTC between the I-5fwy and I-805fwy; less than 4.5mi from the beach, is a beautiful neighborhood called Reinnessance La Jolla. In this lush tree-lined community, right across from a sprawling park, recreation center, and library, are Valentia Apartments. Units are spacious, with thoughtful layouts and descent sound proofing. The property has high-end amenities throughought and is well-maintained.

Pros? Safe, auiet, beautiful, spacious, good location, friendly… staff.

Cons? Crammped guest parking, shared water/sewer/trash bill, crazy high rent with huge annual increases. Read More
