Crazy Move-out costs

This place will charge you more than market rate at renewal (and admit it) and charge you thousands in move-out fees even if you didn't cause any damage. Don't rent here.

Robbery on moveout

I originally liked this apartment and although their rarely were employees on site we were planning to stay until they jacked up our rent above market rate. I was apolled to find, after we only lived there one year and had taken care of the place with utmost care, they charged us for every possible thing on move out. I am completely shocked. The place was not perfect when we moved in, band although we highlighted those flaws and spet the better part of a weekend cleaning after we had already… moved out, they charged US over 1600$ to replace floor that was in bad condition when we moved in and repaint the place. I've never felt more robbed in my life. Do not live here if you don't want an unreasonable bill when you move out.

Great Community!

I just graduated, got a full time job, and was looking forward to moving out of downtown San Jose. The Esplanade Apartments are right on the outskirts of dtsj, in Japantown. They are close enough for downtown to be accessible, but far enough that it feels safe.

I moved into a 2br/2ba where one bedroom is downstairs and the other is upstairs. It is great that my roommate and I are sharing the apartment, but still have our separate spaces. The living room area has nearly floor to ceiling windows… that really brighten up that space. The complex has 2 pools, a gym, and a lounge area. I've been here for about a month and have had a great experience so far! Plus the leasing staff is great!

Love Where You Live

I LOVE where I live! My complex is located in the area of San Jose, CA known as "Japantown". The cherry blossoms in the spring on Jackson Street are amazing! Downtown San Jose is within walking distance and just a few blocks away great shopping and restaurants as well. Although this is a wonderful and safe neighborhood and the complex has all the amenities that you could ask for, it's not the reason I love where I live - it's the staff. From the grounds/maintenance staff to the office… management staff - I have never lived anywhere else where I was always greeted by name and always with a smile. The staff makes a point of getting to know everyone, and that means more to me than two pools, a doggie park, fitness room, computer center, and basketball court. Whenever a need arises the staff are on it immediately and everything is always handled in a professional manner. Anyone would love to live here at the Esplanade - Love where you live, I do!
