Is it perfect? No, but it is pretty awesome to have a pool, hot tub, fireplace, dishwasher and washer dryer hooks at the price. It can be tough to get the maintenance needed quickly. Be sure to walk through and note in writing anything you may want to have repaired before or shortly after move-in. The other tenants are pretty nice so far, and the place seems pretty well maintained. The sound does travel between floor and ceiling, so I have to make sure my little kids don't jump around so they... don't upset the tenants thst live below us. For me I wasn't looking for something longterm, but seems comfortable enough. Glad I got the upstairs unit with the high ceilings. Recommended if it is an option.

When I decided to move into the Sherman Oaks Regency, I saw some negative reviews on this site and 1 or 2 other sites, but when we visited the building the apartment looked fine and the manager assured us that there was nothing to those bad reviews. After two years of living there, I wish I had reconsidered. There was an awful cockroach problem a little less than a year in, in which my neighbors asked the manager to spray the whole floor at once instead of spraying individual apartments each... time someone complained, but she didn't listen (presumably because it would cost more) and ended up having to do it later anyway because the problem got so bad. Whenever we'd call the office to get something fixed, and this is DURING OFFICE HOURS, it would either go straight to voicemail or the manager would pick up while I was giving a voice message - and the problem would usually not get resolved or it would take multiple calls. My fiance's car got broken into twice. The real dealbreaker for us, though, was that the rent went up by $200/mo after our second year there. We originally chose the Sherman Oaks Regency because it was affordable and relatively close to LA, but at that point, I felt we'd be paying much more than what the living experience there was worth.

I am a current resident here at The Sherman Oaks Regency and have been for two years. The manager here is extremely lazy, cheap, and a liar. She never gets anything fixed. This entire building is infested with roaches and termites and she refuses to take care of the issue (bombing the building). The tile in my kitchen is deteriorating and her solution was to just paint over it. Also in the past three weeks we have had about 10 car break ins and one car stolen. Please trust me when I tell you DO... NOT MOVE IN HERE!
