Responsive Until We Paid—Then Communication Stopped

I wish I had taken the reviews about poor communication and move-in delays more seriously. Before we submitted our application and paid the holding deposit on September 8, the leasing team was easy to reach and very responsive. After we paid, the communication suddenly stopped.

They requested additional information, which we provided immediately, but we have still received no clear update about our application despite multiple calls and emails. We requested a specific move-in date, and their… representative told us that changing the date could increase the rent. However, their own delay is now making our requested move-in date nearly impossible and leaving us unable to make housing arrangements.

This is especially concerning because another reviewer described almost the exact same experience with her move-in date being changed. Prospective applicants should be cautious before paying a holding deposit and should get the quoted rent, expected decision date, move-in date, and refund conditions clearly confirmed in writing. I will update this review if management responds and resolves the situation.

Do not live here! Trust the bad reviews its all true

THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU!

Trust me your apartment will not be ready when you move in. After living here you will understand how nightmare this place is. And now you're in a contract you cannot break and they will take that into their advantage and just ignore your request, concerns, complaints! It was shocking to be treated so badly and ignored as if we are begging to live there! The management is nightmare, building is a nightmare especially if you have children there will be so much smoke… around the building, inside the building, all over the building! The swimming pool is unusable! DO NOT LIVE HERE AND REGRET IT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!

Disheartening Experience - Inadequate Management and Maintenance

My tenure at Vela on Ox has been characterized by disappointment and frustration, largely due to the glaring deficiencies in management and maintenance practices. As a resident who has experienced firsthand the repercussions of such negligence, I feel compelled to share my candid feedback to inform others considering this property.

The most pressing issue plaguing this establishment is the chronic malfunctioning of the elevators. It is utterly baffling how all the elevators have remained out of… service for extended periods, inconveniencing residents and compromising accessibility. Despite repeated complaints, the management has failed to address this fundamental issue, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the well-being of tenants.

Moreover, the overall upkeep of the property leaves much to be desired. Common areas are frequently neglected, and essential maintenance tasks are routinely overlooked. It is evident that the management's lack of attention extends beyond elevator repairs, contributing to a deteriorating living environment for residents.

In light of these persistent shortcomings, I cannot in good conscience recommend Vela on Ox to prospective tenants. The substandard management and maintenance practices undermine the quality of life within the community, making it an unsuitable choice for those seeking a comfortable and reliable living environment.
