    Spend a lot, get a little

    Apartment had broken and poorly installed appliances (only the microwave worked properly - the fridge, stove and washing machine all had issues). Furthermore the toilet leaked when I moved in which was made worse by the fact that no utilities are included at all (not even trash) meaning I had to pay for excessive water until it was eventually fixed (still leaked intermittently). For the price, the state of this apartment was unacceptable. Like I found things left by the previous tenants in… cabinets - they didn’t even look through the apartment. There is also a dorm atmosphere as was mentioned by another review. Lots of college kids, little regard for noise or others. Lots of noise comes from outside - directly next to a VERY active fire station, a school, and a hotel that hosts lots of loud events make it a loud location even for a city. The building has an exclusivity contract with Xfinity, so you basically pay extra rent through your Wi-Fi, phone, or tv service - and you are stuck with Xfinity/comcast which is awful and also deceivingly priced. Likewise, management will find a way to price gouge you at every turn. Equity Residential is a bad organization. Front desk employees are nice and the the maintenance staff are responsive. Also don’t believe the amenities, renting the roof spaces costs a prohibitive amount for any length of time, your appliances will not work properly, the location is also deceivingly inconvenient.
