Highly recommend The William Penn
The William Penn has a stellar location on the north side of Dupont. It's about an 8 minute walk from the metro stop, and a 2 minute walk from four different bus stops.
My 2 bedroom unit is spacious, has beautiful hardwood floors, a garden view, and a great kitchen with lots of storage. Everything had been newly repainted and cleaned when I moved in. Management is very responsive and friendly, and any maintenance requests I submit are answered the same day. Packages are generally delivered... right to your door.
The roof has the best views of DC - taking guests up there will wow them every time.
Areas for improvement include ugly hallways and lack of dishwashers. And it'd be nice if the laundry room took more than just quarters. But in the scheme of things, the good far outweighs the bad. I'd highly recommend the William Penn!

William Penn Apartments Epic Review
Great location in Sheridan-Kalorama blocks from Bistro du Coin and Washington Sports Club. 10 minute (.5 miles) walk to Dupont Circle Metro (Q and Connecticut entrance) and great access to buses. 18 minutes walk (.8 miles) to Safeway in Adams Morgan. This is the closest grocery store. Hardwood floors, lots of windows and roof you can hang out on. 1 bedroom is enough space for dining room area off kitchen, living area with couches and separate bedroom and bathroom with doors. 3 closets, one of... which is linen closet with shelves. Laundry in basement that takes quarters. Biggest gripe is no AC in the bedroom. Only one unit in the main room that does not cool off the bedroom. Need to use ceiling fans and other fans to stay cool in hot DC summer. Overall, love this apartment and rent is way below market for this area (under $2,000!). Basic amenities and old building. Our apartment includes 1 parking spot in the garage.

Relatively reasonably priced apartment in a great location
Rents are definitely reasonable considering the location of the property.
Location: The property is located about a half mile from Dupont metro, near many shops and restaurants and close to many of the embassies and houses for diplomats. The location provides quick access to Connecticut and Massachusetts Avenue, Columbia Road and Rockville Parkway. The neighborhood is very safe with constant police patrols.
Building and amenities: The building is older and shows its age but is well... maintained. I’ve not seen/experienced any pest problems but the building recently provided preventative pest control measures upon a neighbors siting of roaches.
The amenities are VERY lacking and is the biggest negative of the apartment. Amenities include: (i) a COIN-OPERATED shared laundry facility (ii) cluttered bike storage unit that’s not well maintained (iii) one working, slow-moving, elevator for residents (iv) one window mounted AC unit which is installed at the beginning of summer and removed at the end of summer which does not adequately cool the apartment.
Property management: Overall, the property manager is above average. He is not the most friendly and outgoing person but is detailed oriented, responsive and fair.
