Stargate West

If you are interested with an apartment complex that does nothing but argue with you when problems arise this is the place for you, my air conditioning unit stopped working 5 days ago and I ofcourse called the emergency maintenance line and nothing happened, I get a call the next day asking what I did to make the a.c. not work, it is 100 plus outside and slowly getting that hot in my apt, apt manager Glenda sends someone out to fix the problem , I come back the same day and it works for about... an hour I tell her again and she tells me that it was cool when she was there , I literally live and work from home and I didn't stay in my house for 3 days cuz it was so hot and they refuse to fix my a.c., my boyfriend calls for me cuz I work during the day, and she tells him she can't do anything cuz he is not on the lease, he doesn't live with me ,he was trying to help the situation since its 100000 degrees in my house, no one should ever have to deal with this especially in this heat. I am glad my kids aren't here right now cuz they would also have to deal with it, when there is a problem , it should be fixed , I shouldn't have to go back and forth or have to call. There is literally no excuse for living in an apartment, paying rent and electricity and the a.c. isn't working in AZ. I'm absolutely disappointed in Glenda and the staff for not realizing or helping on my situation. Im not a confrontational person but hopefully this will be a wake up call to the office that you can't treat tenants and there families that way Lee mas

Stargate West has a reasonable curb appeal. The exterior and grounds are ok in certain areas. Overall there is a predominance of the parking area. At night, the grounds are poorly lit and scary. I would strongly recommend women and children avoid walking around after dark.
Overall, the units are badly dated and need updated interiors. The are holes in the walls where drywall does not fit together well. The units are dark. Construction is shoddy. The carpeting is worn. The bathrooms are also... dated with chrome missing off the hardware in multiple places and old, non-functioning drain covers on the sinks. It reminds me of the bad hotel room depicted on the Hotels.com TV commercials.
Service from the staff is sluggish. I needed a new lock for the mailbox which had been completely ruined by previous tenants. I had this completed after a mere 2 months. The woman in the office explained they were 'really super-busy' so they couldn't get to it sooner.
The overall rating is F. I would strongly recommend not renting here. Lee mas

Great quiet neighborhood with good views! The staff is amazing, very attentive and helpful. They just renovated the gym and the equipment is in good shape. The apartment themselves are spacious. They have walk in closets, a towel closet in the bathroom & storage closet on balcony. I like how the dining room is seperate from the kitchen and not one big room. Also there is a washer and dryer in the apartment so it saves money and time as opposed to a laundromat. Just a few minutes from downtown,... and it's just a short trip on the freeway to the mall.
