Not worth the money

Business Center & Confidentiality
One of my biggest concerns is the business center setup. Residents are required to email documents to staff in order to print them. This creates a major confidentiality and privacy issue, as residents have no way of knowing whether their documents are being saved, viewed, or properly deleted. Handicap Parking Policy
I was also informed in writing that the property intended to charge for handicap parking spaces. In California, this is not legal. Even if the property owns the spaces, handicap-accessible parking must be available on a first-come, first-served basis for qualified residents and cannot be monetized. This policy is extremely concerning.

Building Design & Noise Issues
The building design is very impractical. In some areas, residents must walk through outdoor, uncovered walkways where water pours down like a waterfall during rain, making floors slippery and unsafe.
Additionally, the walls and floors are extremely thin. Normal conversation can be heard outside even with doors and windows closed. Noise easily transfers between units: including walking, flushing toilets, and running washers and dryers. This gives the impression of very cheap construction and makes it difficult to enjoy quiet living.

Coffee Machine & Common Area Amenities
The coffee machine in the office/common area is frequently out of coffee. Residents have no access to restock supplies and must rely on staff. This makes the amenity unreliable and frustrating to use.

Parking Issues
Parking is a major problem. There are not enough spaces for residents. Uncovered parking should be included with rent, not charged as an additional fee. Because of limited parking, I am often forced to park on the street and pay for city permits just to park near my own home.
Unit Layout & Functionality
The units are not as advertised. Despite having a large kitchen, drawer space is extremely minimal: only a few small drawers.
Light switch placement throughout the unit is poorly designed and impractical (for example, kitchen lighting controlled from the hallway, and living room lighting located in the kitchen). This makes daily living inconvenient and poorly thought out.
Overall, these issues significantly impact quality of life and do not align with what is expected for a community at this price point.

UNSAFE and POOR management

This is the most unprofessional management team I have ever had to deal with.

The neighborhood is shady, which means you get shady neighbors. Our upstairs neighbor purposefully stomps and jumps up and down in his apartment in the middle of the night and screams from his balcony at midnight setting off car alarms. A complete nut job.

We have reported this to management multiple times as a safety issue and they have done NOTHING about it.

JJ at the front office is utterly incompetent. When...
we go to the office in person, he tells us he will report our concerns to his manager who is “in a meeting” only for us to go back later to find out he never even talked to her about it and now she’s left the office for the day. He just lies through his teeth saying he will do things that he never follows through on.

This is the worst management team I’ve ever met. Completely unprofessional. They do not care about the residents or community at all. It’s such a shame.

DO NOT LIVE AT THE HAYLEY if you want to feel safe in your home.
