The Village at Wethersfield

Very bad and unsafe community….. over paying for nothing much better apartments around for the same price ….

They make the tenant split the water bill since they do not have separate meters. (Which last I knew was not even legal in the state of Connecticut.) The water bill is OUTRAGEOUSLY high and there is a $5 monthly bill proceeding fee on top of it just for getting a bill . You’ll also never see the actual water bill they get from the town and only get to see the “equal split” that you owe. (Definitely not legal or allowed in CT) I pay 2-3x more for water utilities each month for my 1 bedroom than... most people I know pay for 3 bedroom houses here in CT. My neighbor has three people living in a 1 bedroom who waste water all day meanwhile, I take maybe one 5 minute shower a day and I live alone. Can you tell me how this is fair at all? Stay away from the property until they learn to manage some of these utilities and fees instead of trying to pass them down to the tenant who’s already overpaying for rent.

There have been more than 5+ car break-ins since I moved in over a year ago & the company will do NOTHING to help you out. They just want your money & do not care about you or your safety,

I stayed at Village at Wethersfield for 1 year. Just a little insight into the lease: if you are leasing an apartment for 12 months, be prepared to pay for 13 months because when you vacate the apartment, they will overcharge for routine repairs and wear-and-tear, which other management companies wouldn't. Moreover, they have a pattern of doing this. I know quite a few friends who had similar experiences with them. Then I read the reviews online. It is their common practice to charge a hefty... amount as 'miscellaneous charges,' which essentially amounts to an additional month's rent. Therefore, if you are leasing with them, be prepared to pay an additional month’s rent! Perhaps the worst aspect is that if you call them to discuss it, they are insulting and may snap. Lee mas

Staff is not very friendly and accommodating. I would not recommend attempting to rent here, despite the beauty of the community.
