The Local on 14th

Living at The Local on 14th apartments has been an extremely frustrating and unsafe experience due to ongoing security and maintenance failures that management has failed to address. Two of my vehicles have been broken into while parked in the garage, which is especially concerning given that the parking deck gate is frequently broken and left unsecured. This lack of controlled access makes it easy for unauthorized individuals to enter the property, creating an environment where vehicle... break-ins feel almost inevitable rather than surprising. Despite these repeated incidents, there has been no meaningful response or solution from management to improve safety.
In addition to the vehicle break-ins, multiple packages of mine have been stolen from the mail room, further highlighting the lack of basic security measures. To make matters worse, the malfunctioning parking deck gate has actually damaged my car while I was driving through it, turning a known maintenance issue into a direct financial loss for me. I have reported these problems to management multiple times and requested repairs, but those requests have been ignored or left unresolved. The combination of poor security, broken infrastructure, and unresponsive management makes The Local on 14th a bad place to live and not worth the high cost of rent they charge. Lee mas

There are great amenities here, and there are a lot of positives about the building and it's location and everything. But I've had an ongoing maintenance issue for a year now that has not been resolved, and in order to receive any updates about progress in fixing it, I've had to call and email and visit the office many, many times. We've received apologies and some compensation, but I'm still frustrated and don't feel adequately compensated. I don't have confidence that this issue will be... resolved in a timely fashion or to the fullest extent. I've heard from other residents that they've had no issues living here, so apparently we're an outlier, but I feel obligated to share my experience. Lee mas

This is a great property to live in . It is very quiet during the day and at night . A convenient area to live in as many popular restaurants and event places are less than five miles away as well as gas station and the highway . Resident events occur monthly and the staff is very helpful and will get back to you within a day if any problems occur . Great community to live in .

I'd recommend The Local on the 14th apartment due to the convenience. As a young professional and work-from-home worker, I especially love the monthly resident events and the quietness of the living environment.

The minimalist aesthetic of the apartment pairs nicely with the coffee shop/cabin theme of the social areas, but the setup for the mailroom is absolutely ridiculous. Three times my deliveries/packages have been missing/stolen/misplaced within one week. Each time I was directed to the locker operation system company Luxer, and three times nothing was accomplished. There are cameras in the rooms, but they only face the lockers and can't identify anything that is going on in the larger locker... spaces where mounds of packages are left by untrained Amazon delivery people. If they aren't stuffed in the locker then they are scattered across the floor for anyone to pick up. Which in my case somebody chose to do just that. Since there are no cameras facing the room there is no evidence of the person taking my parcel. I've decided to have all my packages shipped to another location instead of risk the loss of more time and money. While this is horribly inconvenient for me I still enjoy the warm and welcoming feels of the front entrance. Lee mas
