I have lived here for 28 years, and it is the best! Affordable, plenty of upgrades such as new bathrooms, floors, roof, windows. The service is great they do most Maintenace calls within 24 hours and emergencies right away. I have no complaints. They keep the snow up in the winter and the yard and landscape all the rest of the year. While we have had some people living nearby that is not mindful of the rules and upkeep of the trash and parking this is something that cannot always be addressed... right away. It includes heat also, so that is a plus here in Michigan

I cannot express how AFFORDABLE this place is. It is a co-op, which makes ALL the difference in the price. They basically ask for just enough to cover their own expenses, including landscaping, maintenance, ploughing, and periodic improvements, but that is the end of it. The staff is as friendly and helpful as one might expect in a place where the waitlist is super long and no one gets extra pay for keeping current tenants happy. But at this price, that's really not something you want to... complain about. I've lived in other townhouses before and since and this place was a true diamond in the rough. HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking to spend less on rent and more on living... unless I decide to move back, then I would tell you to stay away to try getting myself higher on their list.
That being said, if I were to mention the downsides that eventually drew me away: no dishwasher, poorly regulated appliances (oven/fridge), no community amenities, and NO freedom to leave anything unlocked even if you're in the back yard or upstairs. (Remarkably observant kids from the neighboring apartment complex, some as young as 5, are free to roam the entire multiplex alone and will casually enter any unlocked house or vehicle to take things they've seen through the windows or know belong to the kids that live there. Cops can't exactly regulate bad parenting, though they do make reports when expensive toys go missing or are found broken and buried in strange hiding spots so far away from their own home. If it were just one family, I wouldn't mention it, but there seems to be a cultural trend there.) Even with those downsides, it's still an awesome deal considering how much you SAVE.

Nice..maintenance does their best to remedy any situation, and does so within 24 hours. They are the best! Quiet neighborhood for the most part, and parks available for the kids. BUT, a couple of cars were stolen from right in front of buildings, and the screening process seems to be non-existent.

Thank you for the compliment regarding the Maintenance staff. We agree!! They are the best! We take pride in the community and usually complete all work orders within the same day it's called into the office, pending parts which might need to be... ordered, or if a contractor needs to be called in. As for the theft of the vehicles, as with any community, crime can happen any time, any place and without warning. We urge our members to be vigilant, watch out for one another, and in the event of a crime, call the police and file a report, and notify the office so additional police patrols of the community can be scheduled. Be assured, ALL adult members of the household are required to pay for and complete an application and meet the application and screening requirements BEFORE being placed onto the waiting list. If problems arise after an applicant moves in, the office needs to be notified so it can be properly investigated.
