Run
We loved living here when Allie and Cameron where still managing this place.
Nowadays its a disaster.
They will literally boot your car in your garage, even though you have a 3bdr apartment and are paying additionally for the parking spot. If you come home after 6pm, believe me you will not find a parking spot available. They will say it was an EV parking spot, even though they are taking 4 or 5 spaces (per floor, so you are basically discriminated if you are driving gas vehicle) for EV and... only have 1 charger that reaches 2 spots, not all 4.
We had ants, SO MANY of them everywhere in the apartment. Their exterminator was called numerous times, until we decided to hire an agency privately and get rid of them.
Trash chute always looks horrible, and there is garbage everywhere.
You will most definitely not get your package. Half of our packages is “lost” and building can not do anything, they alway advise us to call courier. No help, because packages were delivered.
Noise!!! We have DOWNSTAIRS neighbours that are playing bass surrond sound system, our whole apartment is shaking!!!!
Not to mention, 2 days ago we were without electricity for a whole day!! They are not capable of getting electricity for you to continue with everyday life, but its important that parking spaces are reserved for electic vehicles and there is only 10 of them for the whole building.
Will definitely not prolonge the lease here and would advise everybody to run as fast as they can.

Parking & lack of care for resident
Do NOT live here. They decided they were going to change their parking policy and have such short notice and did not state when it was going into effect during the week of a holiday.
Changing the policy is fine, but a week’s notice with no clear start date when many people were likely to be traveling is not okay. They should been crystal clear (ie, this starts on July 1) and not “this is effective immediately.” I was in another country and the policy should have not changed so quickly that I... come back to a boot.
Not to mention, per the new policy, they are planning to boot for just about anything (expired tag, bad parking, etc.).
Charlotte is an extremely competitive market for apartments and, to me, this says that South and Hollis does not value its residents.
When I toured, they raved about the visitor parking and now there is basically none because the areas they suggest are shared with nearby businesses.
Additionally, for what it’s worth, the package system is a disaster and you will likely spend 1) way too much time looking for your package or 2) your packages will go missing.

Better complexes
1. Units on a specific side of the building receive zero natural light leaving your apartment fairly dark at all times.
2. Thin walls. I can constantly hear my neighbors, and not even when they are being "loud" just everyday conversations, tv, etc.
3. With the weather improving, it has become even more apparent that there is a lack of outdoor amenity space. Aside from the pool and a few benches at the front of the building, there is no real outdoor area to enjoy, whether for relaxation or... socializing. This absence of functional outdoor space is especially disappointing as many other complexes in the area offer better options for residents to enjoy the outdoors.
4. I raised a concern back in December regarding the lack of mirrors in the parking garage. I was told they were on backorder, but they have yet to be installed. This has created a safety issue, as I often encounter cars speeding around corners without us being able to see each other. The lack of visibility in the garage is both frustrating and potentially dangerous

Rats!
I’m a one month resident, I walked in and had a 14 inch rat on my counter, it jumped 8 feet and ran and squeezed below the maintenance closet door. I immediately contacted the office and after hours maintenance department. It was an off shore call center in Costa Rica. I was informed that this rat incident did not constitute an emergency nor response from management nor maintenance team. I moved into the apartment as the first person, there has never been food or trash left out. The lack of... urgency and sanity safety is concerning. At this juncture, I’d fire everyone in the communication chain of command. This is a debacle on many fronts, not to mention the building already has a rat infestation.

The leasing staff is awesome and attentive. The property has great community engagement events that keep us enjoying our South and Hollis Community .
